I fill up here in Seattle at a rate of $2.30 these days, and that's the cheap stuff!
I know it's even worse elsewhere...
But y'know, internal combustion engines are nasty...the sooner we're off of gas the better. If this spike is sustained for a while, maybe more people will get behind alternatives, or at least the hybrids.
Do any of you regularly walk along busy streets? I do on may way to school, and it seriously sucks! The smell of the exhaust is terrible and you have feel it in your lungs. Because I walk fast, I notice the decreased oxygen I'm getting when a catch a blast from a bus or big truck...it's nasty and I wish it would go away. I wish I didn't have to drive at all!
