Edited on Fri May-21-04 03:24 PM by funkybutt
i think it went something like this:

"is your alcohol problem keeping you from showing up to pick up your childs remains after a schoolbus accident?"

1. Where is the world is this ad airing?
I haven't heard it, and I'm not sure who would sponsor it, unless it's MADD.

5. I guess the gist is
alchoholic parents are too self-absorbed to realize when their teen might be in trouble.

6. Just kidding -
Actually I did hear and I did think it was bizarre as hell. It started out like a "parenting" commercial I've heard, then veered into that thing about picking up your child's remains.

Since it's an appeal to the kids, maybe they figure the kid would say, "Yeah that sounds like my Dad" or something?

Weird as hell.

9. I heard that last night
I wasn't paying close attention, so I had a "did I really hear that?" reaction. WTF is up with that ad? Weird.

10. it was VERY bizarre
a DIRECT 'take' on a PSA that has been run ad nauseum on AAR

it if had been during Franken's show, I would have assumed it was a parody of some sort...

WTF was it? i dunno.

11. There was another weird one just now
about people who have a fear of being mocked. Definitely parody.

Wacky.

12. I just can't imagine that...
a joke about a parent picking up the corpse of their child would be approved. BUt it does seem like something wierd is going on.

maybe they didn't have enough commercials, so they're making their own parody series.

This is so strange!!
