What do you think the Chalabi incident was for? Note that he's been cursing the US out and demanding vehemently that the US get out and Iraq has it's own country, and remember he's a Shiite, a member of the dominant caste in Iraq, however lax his religious practices.
They knew all along he was a thief and possibly a murderer, so they hire him to set the excuse for war, which he did admirably. No one questioned his claims, they just promised him more power and more money the more he spoke - they didn't want to question them because he was telling them exactly what they wanted and they were paying him for it, as they were up to a week ago.
So they had their excuse for the war and he's been paid handsomely for that.
Now the next stage in the plan is to turn Chalabi into a scapegoat to rile up the Iraqi people to demand, nay clamor for the US to get out right away. (Just as he has been all over the news today)
Cheney/Rummy/Bush/Roverer say, "Well, we said we'd leave if we were asked," and BAM! Bush has his "exit strategy" and cover for the election during the "peace" in Iraq with US occupation still in place.
Bush will claim the world is a safer place because of his leadership.
Leter, after the election, a whipped up insurgency and a few well timed "attacks" will ramp it all up again and we will need a draft.
Where am I wrong?
