Ann Richards would make a great Democratic party chairman.....
Edited on Thu May-20-04 11:52 PM by Rowdyboy
her appearance on Larry King reaffirms me of how wonderful she actually is. She needs to be the figurehead/spokesperson for the party....

JMO

edited to spell her name correctly

3. Figurehead, spokesperson, co-chairman with a strong administrative
partner. It could work.

4. I was thinking more of a prison warden

for Dubya and the neocons when they're hauled up on war crimes.

And she can tell him they dont do pardons or commutations because everyone in jail must be guilty.

5. Not sure she wants the pay cut
She's a lobbyist these days, and makes a lot as a speaker, too. Pays very well. She'd have to retire to head the party. I like the idea, though.

Someone said she might not have the energy for fundraising! Bite your tongue, you couldn't keep up with her.

6. I don't know what the hell happened to her.
I was too young to care about politics back when she was Governor, but I still loved her. Most of Texas did too, for a while. She was smart, had a fast tongue, and very funny. My older brother thinks she would have beat * handily if she hadn't opposed allowing a voter initiative for concealed firearms permits. It's a shame she hasn't run for some kind of national office since then, I would compare her level of political talent to that of Bill Clinton himself.
