The bible says "blessed are the peacemakers" it doesnÕt say "blessed are the warmongers".

I still donÕt understand how Conservative Christians can square the use of violence in their belief system when the message, sacrifice and EXAMPLE of Christ was the complete opposite.

Christ did not tell his followers to seek revenge, start a revolt, or even start an opposition party against the Romans.

Unless, they believe in that book End of Time series, and are trying and want Armageddon to happen?

1. the problem is

that for every peace extolling passage in the bible (or the koran or in any religious text)there is one condemning some group or other and advocating hatred or violence towards them. The Bible both New and Old Testament - is RIDDLED with contradictions

It's how people who support the death penalty AND people who oppose it can quote the Bible.

How anyone can live their life based on something written over a thousand years ago - translated from languages that no longer exist, written by different people about someone who died hundreds of years before they wrote (in parts) is utterly beyond me.
