BBV: Voter Confidence Act gains another Senate cosponsor (keep calling)
PLEASE KEEP PHONING THE SENATE. SEE BELOW FOR DETAILS.

Senator Mark Dayton of Minnesota became a cosponsor of "The Voter Confidence Act," bill number S.1980, to require electronic voting machines to print paper ballots, which allows for meaningful recounts and audits.

The Senate sponsor is Bob Graham of Florida,
and these are the cosponsors:
Sen Dayton, Mark - 5/18/2004
Sen Hollings, Ernest F. - 4/1/2004
Sen Lautenberg, Frank R. - 3/25/2004
Sen Nelson, Bill - 2/23/2004
Sen Schumer, Charles E. - 2/23/2004

Dayton and Schumer are on the Senate Rules and Adminstration Committee, which has the power to send the bill to the floor of the Senate.

We need to persuade a majority on this committee to support "The Voter Confidence Act."

Schumer was one of the first cosponsors. Dayon just became a cosponsor this week.

Hillary Clinton is cosponsorng an alternative bill called "The RECORD Act," which has a giant loophole which lets states say it's "impossible" for them to provide voter-verifiable paper ballots instead of doing so.

If you're in NY, please thank Schumer for supporting "The Voter Confidence Act" and ask him to keep fighting for this, and ask Hillary Clinton to also cosponsor "The Voter Confidence Act."
