A group of friends and I run a website and we are trying to build a book resource for those of you who are interested in buying or reading books about Bush's failure in the White House. The website offers other means of electional persuasion(?:)), too. There are e-cards to send to friends and family who may still need convincing, and there's merchandise which will hopefully help advertise to get people taking action this coming election.

Please have a look and offer any suggestions for books, topics we may cover in the e-cards (there are several dealing with a range of issues), or anything else. It would be great to hear from the DUers out there and get them interested.

Thanks for your help!:)

12. It goes back to before the administration, but ...
...do consider "Shrub: The Short but Happy Political Life of George W. Bush," by Molly Ivins and Lou Dubose. It will give the reader some idea of the real record of Bush's first term and partial second term as governor of Texas. It's available in paperback.

I also didn't see Joe Conason's "Big Lies" on your list yet. That particular book points out the disconnect between what right-wing pundits and politicians say and what they do.

Finally, don't forget Mark Crispin Miller's analysis of Bush language, "The Bush Dyslexicon." That too is available in paperback.

14. wow
Great contributions. And thoughtful response. Much appreciated.
We want to put some quick comments about each book up there but are worried that the content will get too unwieldy...so for now, I guess that's what the Amazon link is good for.

Let me know if you think of any others.

18. AH. I see.
Well, that's what I get for not searching, eh? Thanks very much. Noticed that we have quite a few at first glance, but we'll take a longer look.

Still, it's good to get people in there to have a look at the site. Since it's not just books we have on offer. As much as possible, we're trying to be a persuasive resource. So...whatever falls in that category, we'd like to hear about it!

23. Shadia Drury's book on Leo Strauss and the Straussians (neocons)
Don't know the name of it. She may in fact have several books, in which case the one I'm talking about is several years old (2 - 3, maybe more). There have been numerous important articles written about her work in exposing these fascists.

Chris Hedges books, esp. one with a title like "War Is Tie that Binds Us."

25. Shadia Drury's
"Leo Strauss and the American Right"

She's also written "Terror and Civilization : Christianity, Politics, and the Western Psyche". Both seem like good candidates.

Chris Hedges work certainly doesn't pull any punches. "What Every Person Should Know About War" and "War is a Force That Gives Us Meaning" are controversial, but compelling, by the looks of things.

Thanks for the tips!

corruption specifically, but about Washington corruption generally (on both sides of the aisle)-- many things applicable to Bush administration.
