Kerry's Lead is AMAZING And HISTORIC!
Edited on Sun May-16-04 09:59 PM by Beetwasher
It's practically unheard of for a challenger to be this far ahead of an incumbent at this point in time.

This is a HUGE story and yet the spin everywhere is "Why isn't Kerry doing better?".

That's BULLSHIT! Historically speaking his 5-6 point lead at this point in time is INCREDIBLE!!

The pundits like to say "Oh this is going to be a close election fought over only 10% of voters." and then in the next breath they say "Why isn't Kerry doing better?". His 5-6 pt lead especially at this point in time and in light of the close split of the electorate, is AMAZING!!!

1. and if the corporate media
is claiming 5 points, you can bet your life savings Kerry's at least 10 points ahead. But hold your horses, this election is FAR from over.

3. THANK YOU!!!!
Some sanity in DU. I'm sick of the FReaks lurking on this site talking about how bad Kerry is doing and how no one knows him etc.

It's good to see someone actually gets it! I've been saying this since the new polls came out. Definetly not time stop fighting the thugs but it's time to get happy! :toast:

5. Yeah Kerry's doing great!
Landslide anyone?

Remember that millions more people voted for the liberal candidates in 2000 (Gore and Nader).

otherwise when the Pugs steal it with e-voting it would be noticed big-time.

10. The question shouldn't be, "Why isn't Kerry doing better?"
It's, "why is Bush doing this well?"

Editorial today on why Bush is one of the worst presidents in US history:

11. the feeling I get is that it isn't Kerry winning, it is bush losing.
People just want him out of office. It is ABB.

Bush and Kerry are in a dead heat in the red states, 45 to 45 with the rest undecided. Kerry is leading well in the blue states.

14. Yes, and that's why the lead is dangerously thin. If Bush gets
some "plus" things going, Kerry is still vulnerable.

We need to help Kerry build his strength so that his lead is not just caused by *'s weakness.

15. It's certainly Bush losing.
It is pretty much the case that a re-election campaign is much less a statement on the challenger than it is a referendum on the incumbent.

20. It usually is a referendum on the incumbent.
But if Kerry were not perceived as something better he wouldn't be so far ahead at this point in time. Nothing can help * now. Put a fork in him, he's done.

12. Because the corporations that own most of the media
Has a vested interested in * staying in power. His views on media is that of them being a business first, while owing an obligation to public good being a distant second. It's about money from high ratings and corporate merges, not about quality journalism and that's just fine with most Republican philosophies. Critical thinking does not serve their interests.

16. The wing nuts are running out of good news for their side.
Freepers are left to post polls from States were Bush is leading Kerry. They are no longer talking about the national picture. They were saying that all those polls showing Bush losing support were bogus for some reason. That was a few days ago. I don't see that anymore.

"Democrats are worried". I watched the whole segment trying to figure out what the dems were supposed to be worried about, and I never did figure it out! Maybe CNN thinks we're worried cause it's looking like we'll win!

18. "Bush approval rating takes hit"
That's the title on the webpage now. Notice he doesn't "sink" or "flounder" or "tank" -- he "takes a hit" like a heroic soldier.

19. Kerry SHOULD be ahead by 20% or more...
but that is not Kerry's fault, the problem is the American people.

I made this point on a thread about the world's opinions of the US. And yes, everyone outside the US is simply amazed that Kerry is not winning polls in a landslide.

21. Nahh, Not Possible
This election is going to be fought over the swing vote and most people agree that's only around 10% of voters. Kerry is in amazing shape having garnered around half that group already.
