2. We are more original than that
We can come up with something better than such overused expressions. Copper Green deserves it's own special place in the glossary of evil in the world.

4. I think you should make use of this phrase from McCain
talking about Powell this morning. Just a thought

10. so that's what McCain meant by the palm tree comment!

i only caught the 2nd half of MTP... when Russert asked McCain if he (McCain) would consider the Democratic VP ticket, McCain said something along the lines of "Now Tim if you would only be so kind as to pan over to a palm tree."

6. Ted Rall's column is in our local paper this morning and he uses
alot of nazi terms to describe this administration. He calls RW columnists facists. He calls the use of dogs in interrogation SS style and the Iraq prisons are Defense Department gulags.

I know Rall has the tendency to go over the top from time to time but he is using the nazi comparison. He also questions, "Shall we forgive Hitler for killing 6 million Jews if someone else kills seven?".

8. who is your paper? I am in Va Beach, military town and there were lots of
rw opinion pieces putting down media, and the abuse as no big deal, and we have gone too far putting that stuff in the paper.....now mind you...they put very little if any on the front page...no pictures...but they had a huge four column spread of berg's parents...

again the opinion pieces were all against the exposure of this....torture.....

really sad to realized how many people would rather bury and allow treating others wrong.....and not think of consequences...

It use to be pretty right leaning but one of my neighbors works for the paper and she told me that they have a new person in charge of running the paper and this person is a moderate. We still get Coulter and she stated that much of the staff don't like it but this person's sole purpose "was to shake things up a bit".

We have had a good mix of LTTE with more going against the pResident then condoning his actions. For the most part, evertime there is a person who supports the pResident or tries to be an apologist for the torture (in a RW manner) there are at least 3 responses the next day responding to their idiocy.

I have seen a very refreshing change in my local paper over the past year.

Edit: Bear in mind our local news in run by Sinclair Broadcast Group so many people I know refuse to get our local news by watching it on television. Their broadcast of our local news is very offensive if you are a liberal or moderate.

12. thanks.....that is tough to only have sinclair
I don't have cable so I use an antenna and can get abc, nbc, and then some uhf....and pax which is nbc......

CBS never comes in clear.

I used to watch leno but am moving away from it as I see him treat his guest 'meanly' and demeaningly. Plus now that he has new contract, he seems to play up to Bush...and it is real obvious he is repub......

probably watching abc the most right now but it comes.

Not much on tv anyway anymore. Most wholesome shows are gone. The fear factor commercials are enough for me to turn the TV off and never watch again.

I am down to three shows I watch
West Wing
Doc
Sue Thomas FBI

Loved but gone
Just Cause
Body and Soul
Providence
Ed
Northern Exposure
Carol Burnett

for Monday morning, as we speak. This really is the deathblow to Rumsfeld. They would like to retain their man, but that tsunami I spoke of last week has just crested.

Of course as with so many of his disasters, they are of his own making. He had to shoot his big mouth off last Friday and Monday in testimony before the Congressional committee. He vehemently denied any implication in this. He also conceded that there was a report back in January which detailed the "abuses". But no decent military would ever concoct or approve of this kind of conduct, no sir.

11. "uhhh, technically they are not Nazis"
because they haven't followed thje exact details to the letter. The call themselves "Neocons" instead of "Nazis" - that's a lot of different letters.

Plus, the Nazis didn't have cell phones.

So you can see - it's quite different
