Having just watched the Berg video....

All I can say is it was awful. Made me sick to my stomach. I nearly puked. Wow, my heart goes out to his family and friends. Poor guy. He happened to be an enterprising, adventurous young man and he got caught up in an awful neo-con created mess. Nobody deserves that sort of thing. Man, I feel bad.

I have seen one of those videos, by mistake, when I clicked on a poorly-captioned link. It was a beheading from either Bosnia, Afghanistan(Russian Era) or Chechnya. I wasn't right for weeks.

It didn't upset me in the same way as other people. Don't get me wrong. It was brutal and horrific. Yet I don't seem to have the same deep emotional response that many others feel, aside from just stoking the flames of my hatred for Bush and the neo-cons. Hatred is not really the right word, not even close really. It's the closest I can come to expressing myself though.

... as the Daniel Pearl decapitation, but I'm in a different frame of mind this time around. I probably wouldn't have watched the Berg video at all had there not been the controversy about the time stamp, etc. With the Pearl video, I was in a "know thy enemy" frame of mind. Now I'm in a "what the hell is going on?" frame of mind. In both cases, young men died. We can take some small comfort that both we apparently already dead or unconscious prior to the gruesome display.

WTF, if you're going to execute someone AT LEAST HAVE THE HUMANITY TO DO IT SWIFTLY! There are no words to describe how horrible that was. I feel a great amount of sadness for his family. No one deserves to die like that.

the type of guy I'd love to have as a husband. I felt so badly for his wife. Out of respect for her and her baby I couldn't watch it.

I also can't watch the Berg one. I have it saved. I don't think I'll ever watch it. I just want BushCo out of office so our people don't have to die like this ever again.

10. Ever see the video where the guy gets eaten by lions?

He's apparently with his family on an African safari, probably in the sixties or so given by the vehicles, clothes, and 8 mm film. I guess he decides to step out of the car to pet the lions. Sure enough one just reaches up and grabs him by the neck, camera starts shaking wildly, the family is visibly screaming. Close up of the guy with the lion biting his neck, he's just lying there like a gazelle, more lions come over to eat, his wife gets out of the car to help, gets quickly back in the car. Lions start eating the guy, camera pans off to reveal small child in the next car crying.

The Berg video wasn't that bad.
