How far will Bush & Co go?
Any time you are in a conflict, it is important to have an idea of how far your opponent will go to avoid defeat. The recent CNN poll shows an obvious trend -- Kerry is starting to move ahead, and bush is falling behind. We all know that the powers behind bush are going to pull some nasty tricks out of their bag. I'm curious: exactly how far do you think they will go? A patriotic capture of Usama Bin Laden? A computerized theft of the election in certain states? I think that there is a serious possibility of an "incident" that results in a conflict with Iran .... too much anti-Iran talk on Fox, mixed with conversations on a draft .... in hopes the fear factor helps bush in November. Your thoughts?

1. It would probably
be to his detriment to do any drum beating at Iran or Syria. I don't think anyone wants to see yet another war begun.

2. Bush believes there are no limits to his actions
He is entitled. He rules as a king, he thinks. His family thinks the same--ie his mother's statement that she has a beautiful mind that does not need to be cluttered up with the deaths and suffering of children in other parts of the world.

He does not know how to think of others at all. He is a spoiled little boy. His wife is a Stepford wife, hanging on to a spoiled little boy. He is really and truly the worst president we have ever had.

I hope someone brings that home to him, although Nixon never admitted he was a crook either.

3. There is NO limit to how far The Bastard King will go to retain power
Those fucks will do anything, say anything, kill anyone who gets in their way, ANYTHING to stay in power. With the blessings of their base.

4. they'll go as far as they think can w/out hurting bidness
Global thermonuclear war is bad for business so don't think they'll go that far. Civil war...as in, refusing to vacate the White House...hard to say. The coup was less damaging to the DOW than one might have expected, which sets an unfortunate precedent.

Capturing Bin Laden, I'll believe when I see it -- it's bad for business to "P" off your business partners.

Computerized theft or attempted theft of the election. This is a dead certainty and we must be on guard against it.

An incident leading to war with Iran or Syria or all of the above. I wouldn't put it past 'em. Invading Cuba and/or Venezuela is another concern.

The thing I worry about most is being put in position where the only choice is another civil war or a Reich figure-headed by various Bush family members. Hell of a choice. There is a belief, by the other side, that liberals won't fight and think nothing is worth fighting for. Don't ask me where they got this belief after the late 60s/early 70s but it's definitely there. If they think they can take over and set themselves up as kings without any real battle, they'll do it.

The good thing about Kerry is that they can't question his courage and his willingness to fight for what he believes.
