9. Yes...
that was my point.

It was argued that the orange jumpsuit shown on Berg was the same as that used in Gitmo. So somebody posted a Berg pic, and I posted a Gitmo pic to show the difference.

It was a nice try, wasn't it? It accomplished exactly what I intended.

24. Okay.....
The left picture appears to be a shiny fabric in a similar color that also appears to be much looser fitting with a more angled V-neck. Almost a cutout.

Intrestingly I found that Mohammed upon his return is supposed to wear....an orange robe....weird

http://bdsteel.tripod.com/More/Prophecy.htm

"Many Mohammedans will not know about his advent for a long time. That holy Spirit will wear two garments, one inner and the other outer (p.239). The robe, orange in colour, will be of such a shape that the contours of his back will be seen clearly (p.292, 777). His dress orange in colour, will spread Light among the people (p. 245)."

4. So let me see if I get this right
I'm an extremest radical terrorist and I kidnap an American, so what is the first this I want to do? Dress him up in a flaming orange jump suit and hope nobody notices the guy?

6. Really WTF would be the point in doing that? Generally kidnappers let
you keep the clothes you had on, right? :eyes:

"Nick, lets get you dressed up in this orange jump suit for the video dude."

Gimme a break. Something is fishy here ...

8. Only if you're an idiot
Or maybe if you're not an idiot.

Some among us seem to think that the very presence of an orange jumpsuit is compelling evidence of monkey business. The fact is that they're easy to procure, even if not from the official sources that provided those seen in these other photos. Pinning too much faith on an orange pair of overalls is silly.

On the other hand, yeah, why would Muslim extremists bother dressing their captive in an orange jumpsuit? There seems no compelling reason...

...uness, of course, they were forward/parallel-thinking enough to think that doing so would raise a few questions about exactly who did the killing...

....unless, of course, it was the CIA, DIA, or whoever indulging in triplethink...

...etc, etc. The jumpsuits may not be a red herring, but it's possible to spin their presence into endless scenarios of which only one -- if we're lucky -- is actually the truth. And sometimes a preponderence of 'coincidences' really is just a coincidence. Not that I'm saying that any of this is coincidental -- both Al Quaeda and the US government (among others) have previously demonstrated themselves perfectly capable of such atrocity.

12. i used to think that the orange suit thing was just paranoia
but then, i noticed the chair. And i noticed that the sound in the tape is very likely dubbed. And I kept asking myself, why would they use a prison jump suit. Every other hostage tqaken by terrorists until now usually wore whatever clothes he was captured in until they tattered. I have a really bad feeling about all of this now...

13. Okay....
You're the CIA looking to kill someone in order to inflame passions of Americans...so you film the killing of the guy in US prison issue clothing?

14. When you put it that way...
it's about as lacking in sense as the other prime scenario considered and much-debated herein.

I think we need to seriously consider an extraterrestrial involvement.

Then again, the CIA have long been notorious for incompetence, so maybe the orange jumpsuit et al. were just "whoopsie" items.

I mean, combined with the white athletic shoes, worn (like white belts with powder blue pants and white leather shoes with black socks and plaid shorts) only by Americans, it's a closed case.

22. Nahhhh....
The "whoopsie" was clearly picking the fattest of the CIA Wet Work team and the 27 retakes of the video which caused our actors to shift their weight and reveal their "mannerisms".

Okay..I'm being a bit harsh there. Something may be fishy and lord knows we should be suspiscious but sometimes a cigar IS just a cigar.

15. If you already had him in custody
then that is what he would be wearing?

Doesn't mean they planned to kill him when they re-arrested him? If that is what happened?

17. Okay...
You have him in custody...if the tape was meant to inflame passions...why would you leave him in US prison issue garb to video tape the killing? Why not change his clothes?

Because if its a plan by the CIA to do a pub stunt for the purposes of getting Americans flipped out, wouldn't they do a better job? At the very least not having the guy in US prision issue garb?

Not that I think the CIA is infallable but c'mon isn't that a little obvious?

23. Judging by some of these posts...
...the CIA is quite aware of the stupidity of the American people. Those TRYING to make a connection or even some sense of the glaring inconsistencies in the video will be quickly set upon and called 'idiots' and conspiracy nuts.

- Hell...crimes have been committed here and in the middle east in broad daylight and those trying to get to the truth are ridiculed. It's obvious the CIA...or whomever killed Berg...have nothing to worry about.

27. Okay....
The CIA is so clever that they figure they will tarnish the unblemished record of those who track in conspiracy theories by leaving in inconsititencies implicating themselves?

I don't wish to call anyone an idiot...there is alot of weird stuff in the world....I just don't think this particular dog is gonna hunt.

21. The jumpsuit is very puzzling
The only explanation that seems reasonable to me is that he was captured by al Queda, as claimed. Knowing they were going to videotape his execution they found an orange jumpsuit someplace (that explains the different style) to put him in - to further humiliate him in the same way Iraqi prisoners are humiliated by putting them in orange jumpsuits. What's good for the goose . . .

Fortunately I have never been imprisoned but I can imagine it would be very dehumanizing and humiliating to lose your clothes, identity, etc. and be completely under someone else's control.

They did claim that they executed him in retaliation for the treatment of Iraqi prisoners.

Just a thought.

26. I think the orange is so that he'll be the absolute focus of attention
I've only seen the still photos, but my eye went directly to Nick. It took seeing a larger photo before the guys in the back really popped out at me, visually speaking.

Or maybe orange has some symbolic significance that we don't know about.

Prayers for Nick Berg and his grieving family.
