Anyone think MSNBC's three person anchor team is bizarre?
Edited on Fri May-14-04 03:56 PM by quinnox
I don't know how many have noticed, mainly because MSNBC is so low rated and doesn't get many viewers, but they switched to a three person team now that gives the news.

It is bizarre, they have a long-ass table and all three of them sit there and take turns telling the news stories at different times, while sometimes doing the silly typical tv banter between them.

I can't help but think they got the inspiration from the show "The View" or something equally strange.

It smacks of a desperation move, and it is just really odd when you watch it.

I am talking about the morning time, occasionally I will switch through and take a glance. I don't know if they do this weird setup all through the day.

1. TV News meets "Three's Company" meets ...
Barbie, Ken & Midge (Madge?)

Yes, I've noticed the bizarro-ness of it - one of the women used to be a MTV veejay.

Those three seem (particulary) obsessed with imagining what they look like as they read the "news" and then look toward each other, dramtically, to smile or grimace, whichever is appropos....or not;)

3. lol
That's a good way to put it. Three's company does come to mind, doesn't it with the one guy and the two women newsanchors.

5. Yeah, way bizarre
each one of them is so bad, add 3 together to try & get 1 decent anchor.

I used to watch MSNBC way back...they kept getting worse & worse..
I turned it off for good.

6. I like the women they have in the morning. 2 of them are just stunning
Natalie Morales

in the early morning hours and

Amy Robach

in the midmorning are both reason enough for me to watch MSNBC if I'm watching news.

To bad they split these 2 up though, it would have been must see tv if they were still on at the same time.

7. A little steal from the Focks Noose playbook.
You'll notice Focks always uses as many anchors* as possible. That way, the viewer gets the folksy, feel-good impression of "guys sitting around talking sports."

It also helps to foster Groupthink, something vitally important to the Media Borg's mission of propping up bu$h at all costs.

*You know what happens to anchors, don't you? When the ship's in trouble, they get dropped.

8. I hated it when Headline News switched to a similar format...
In the attempt to be "cool," and draw in a younger viewership, the had multiple personalities doing different subjects, like news, travel (although I do admit that Rally Caparas is HOT!), movies, health, etc.

They began using "hip" lingo and wearing moddish clothes. I hate this format.

And I cannot stand The View. Does ANYONE watch that silly show?
