Where can I see the Berg video?
Or at least stills of the heinous act?

If I missed out on it, oh well.

Thx.

2. In case you haven't heard...
the screaming starts before the actual beheading, so if you don't want to watch the entire horrible thing, stop it at that point.

I wanted to see some of the video, to get a sense of the authenticity, but read enough of other viewer's reactions to know that I didn't "need" to see the rest.

3. Anyone that "WANTS" to see this video...
Sorry man, anyone that actually wants to see this video is sick. Movie violence is different from real violence. I'm disappointed that anyone would actually ask to see it.

4. Polar, why would you be disappointed?
I think that many people that want to see it now are not looking at it for entertainments sake; that would be disgusting...but, rather because there are so many unanswered questions about this young man's death.

I am personally interested in one thing right now about the video that no DUers opinions can answer: Why hasn't anyone in the US in any official capacity spoken out about the autopsy results? Why are we left wondering if he was alive or not at the time of the beheading?

The silence of officials is deafening.

7. Thank you.
I did have to speak in my own defence, but you hit the nail right on the head. That is precisely WHY I wanted to see it. A still photo goes only so far. Mannerisms, et al, are hard to figure out in a still photo - particularly when the miscreants were completely covered up.

And I agree wholeheartedly. Anybody wanting to see this for entertainment's sake is VERY ill.

I saw this video and was disgusted.

Nor am I convinced those "people" were Islamic or, indeed, native to that region. Mostly due to circumstantial evidence of course, but knowing enough about the region and the sanctions and what not, VERY FEW people in Iraq are going to be "full bodied" like that. Yet, surprisingly, America has a big problem right now with obesity. Not to mention the convenience of American garb (bright orange prison jumpsuit, tennis shoes, bulletproof vests.) Does this all mean Americans chopped his head off? No. But I say there's reasonable doubt that has to be investigated, right down to the atomic level if we truly are a moral and ethical society (which is something we're NOT.)

I'd have to rewatch the depravity in order to ascertain more. But I'd rather not. It's agonizing to watch...

5. I disagree. Here's why
It is real. People need to know what has been done. Whenever whoever did it is found, they need to know that justice has been done.

6. The whole world is sick. Or hadn't you noticed?
Without looking at the details of this depravity - both corporeally and metaphysically - we'll learn NOTHING. I say people have every damn right to ask. Particularly if somebody else says "No" or says "No" with a lot of petty moralizing in a feeble attempt to back up their "No" claim.

One day humanity will evolve beyond what's going on. (Or maybe I'm mentally ill for thinking that humankind can evolve)

I know full well the difference between movie violence and real violence. I don't need to be talked down to like a 7th grade Sunday School kid who spoke out of turn, thank you all the same.

Welcome to DU by the way. And it's because you're new that I won't make a terrific stink about this. But I will say that you probably don't know me. Well, maybe you just learned something.

Here's an idea: If you think some people don't know the difference between movie violence and real violence, go to Hollywood and tell them to stop making movies with violence. That way people (either stuipid or malicious) won't do copycat stunts in real life. 9/11 being a prime example, all the media bimbos at one point went around saying "Ooooooh, this is something like you'd see in the movies, except it's real!"
