Motives of the Bush & co for working with the Nazis
Do you think that the Bushes, Harrimans, DuPonts, Walkers, Dulles et al were more motivated by corporate greed or by shared ideology in their support of Hitler and the Nazis?

Despite coverups for many years, it is fact that those people supported the Nazi enemy. The motive though is still a moot point based on different articles I read. Some strongly claim that they were soulmates in their world views. Others say that they were motivated by callous greed in maximizing their profits from both sides. I would be very interested in finding more evidence that the Bushes and their buddies were motivated by something more than greed.

2. Regarding communism
I cannot verify this now, but I read of allegations that they also funded the Soviet communists during WWII. Anyone know of this?

3. Want a real eye opener? Find a Reader's Digest from pre-Pearl Harbor

They ran dozens of articles during the 1930's with titles like 'Hitler's German Miracle', etc... Hitler was quite a darling of the American right-wing elite before Pearl Harbor. Even after Pearl Harbor, more than one rich US elitist suggested that our real enemy during WWII should have been the Soviet Union, not Hitler's Germany. They thought FDR picked the wrong side, basically.

Another excellent source for this period of erased history is the work of I.F. 'Izzy' Stone, muckraker extraordinaire. Almost all of his work is out of print and hard to find, but I've found several WWII-era books of his at thrift stores like Goodwill (His 'What Is Fascism?' is a really good one on this particular topic).

Given the American right wing elite's interest and support of the Eugenics movement, I'd have to say they were philosophically aligned with the Nazis, not just financially involved with them.

6. Shared goals,values. Dictionary: fascism=alliance of state + corporations
Power allies with power to protect and reinforce itself.
Read Noam Chomsky's 'Understanding Power.' Ties it all together.

The large corporations feared populism and socialism in the early 20th century and rooted for and supported the dictators who successfully kept the working herd complying out of terror of the wolves.

Look at the DuPont attempted coup against FDR in 1934 to prevent the New Deal. It was thwarted by General Smedley Butler who pretended to be a co-conspirator and blew the whistle at the last minute. He is the famous author of 'War is a Racket' where he details how his career in the US military was as a thug for corporations for thirty years.

This is an amazing online book detailing how fascism has been nurtured in the US since 1919. I strongly recommend reading all of it.
