CONGRATULATIONS Bush*! New oil Record! $41.10
The previous highs were in 1990, under papa.

But the son* had to beat that record.

2. Question is...
Why do 50% of Americans want HIM?

Oh yeah, it's the Liberals who make gas prices high... :)

3. You know, it is a depressing thought, but this might bring the wingnuts to
oppose Bush. It hurts their pocket (the only thing they consider besides their religious nuttiness).

4. I'm Not Surprised...
Yesterday I stopped by the gas station (in Rochester, NY) to find that a gallon of unleaded regular had ballooned to...

...wait for it...

TWO DOLLARS AND TWELVE CENTS!!

My first thought was "those poor folks in southern California! They must be over FOUR DOLLARS a gallon by now!"

The woman at the pump next to mine took a gander at the price, sucked her teeth and said "Bush needs his ass kicked..."

Made my heart sing.

That, and the fact that I only needed a gallon of gas to fill my lawn mower. Had I been filling up my car I would have needed a loan... ;(

People are waking up across the land. Gotta love so much about this country, but most of all is the the average American may be uninvolved and self-centered, but could never be called stupid or indecent.

14. yes, they ARE waking up
i had a contractor come to my home to put a bid in on some work i'm having done. we yakked for awhile about the job, but then he got off on a rant about *ush and the whole iraq mess. he says he loses work when he gets on talk radio shows and speaks his mind about him, but he's not going to stop!

i couldn't believe it! of course, i added my two cents too - keep it moving people!

6. Make that $41.40
You think your gas is high now? Wait a few weeks...

Gee. a RECORD high in time for....Memorial Day Weekend.

A coincidence, I'm sure.

:eyes:

Then, in July, watch the prices TUMBLE before the election.

8. As those prices tumble...
...will the middle class family, that had to first plan for a vacation "nearer home" due to the economy, then having to instead plan for a "day out" due to the gas prices, be willing to forgive Bush because he f'd up their vacation?

How many people go day in and day out through a year waiting for their wimpy two week (or one week, or whatever) vacation to go out and do something with the kids during their summer break?

10. Well, the oil embargo was an event...
Edited on Fri May-14-04 01:39 PM by jackstraw45
that took a LONG time to recover from.

But looking at that chart, the spikes at 1990 and today are quite revealing.

Also, that chart only goes to 2000, BEFORE the Chimp came into office...there should be a sharp spike upwards above $40 at the end...and that spike won't be done if Dumbya wins in 2004.

12. big drop 1996 to 1998
and I remember Dole trying to make gas prices an issue when they briefly spiked in May 1996. Ironic or flat out odd that during the greatest years of expansion, the supply was so great that prices fell to record lows. Peace seemed to make it easier and cheaper to produce energy. Although I also remember the low oil prices triggering financial problems in the ME so there always has to be a balance.

15. Yesterday, the Senator from Idaho,
I believe it was Larry Craig, told me from the Senate Floor that the reason the gas prices were so high was because the Democrats didn't pass the energy bill. Of course, my answer to him was "Liar".

my car is receiving less wear and tear because filling it up is no longer more economical than the bus!

Danke sehr, Herr President! Heil Bush!
