When you not only accept torture as being okay but then diminish it's impact as only a joke or hazing incident it is a form of belittling those people. It is incendiary. They know what abuse and torture is. When they get the impression that Americans especially those in power feel they are just making a fuss over nothing it shouldn't surprise anyone when they do atrocious things to Americans and say it ain't nothing really. Only a form of Arabic hazing. The more these people talk the madder the Arabs get at Americans and the more apt they are to reciprocate in some horrendous fashion.
