Body Armor on Terrorists who killed Berg
If you look ast the photos you can clearly see that at least 3 of the terrorists are wearing BOY ARMOR under their robes.

Besides the fact that this is bizarre - does anyone recognise the type of body armor they are wearing? You can clearly see it - sholder straps and everything.

1. Since they keep
ambushing our caravans, I wouldn't be surprised if they had our body armor, weapons, ammo and uniforms.

2. BOY ARMOR?
I think that's an unfortunate visual no matter how you slice it.

P.S. I know it was just a typo. Just having a little fun.

13. I watched the vid
They are not flat when you see them in motion. And they were bouncing around an awful lot. Got to see them at plenty of angles.

16. TV Report said there are places in Iraq markets where you can buy
all sorts of American equipment. I don't know if it was 60 minutes or Dateline, or another show. They took an undercover camera into the Iraqi market in Baghdad and showed American uniforms correct to the unit patches, and with American name patches, body armor, guns and ammo. My thinking at the time was if a TV crew could find this stuff, why couldn't the military. Evidently a lot of it had been stolen from American outposts by the Iraqis who work there.

18. I'd like to ask a question of DUers who played football...
Since the video and stills of this horrific incident first appeared, observant DUers have questioned their authenticity. Among those questions was one regarding the physical appearance of the "assassins" (my local paper's term in its breaking headline). I remember I too had a strange reaction to these photos. For example, the subject standing to the far right looks like someone who played football (and I don't mean soccer). Not generally regarded as an Islamic pastime. I played football for three years in school, mainly on the line (defensive middle guard and center on offense). Among our drills (in addition to weight-lifting, which some of these subjects look like they've done at one time (maybe its the baggy clothes)) was to learn how to posture oneself to take a blow or to not be thrown off balance.

Notice the placement of the feet of the subject on the far right in the above photo: far apart, thereby lowering one's center of gravity. Also, notice the posture: it appears the shoulders are slightly forward as the hands appear to hang in front of the thighs. Again, we were taught this is the best way to confront a blow from an opponent: feet apart to lower center of gravity and body slight forward to redistribute weight toward the action.

Now, I have no evidence that this is the reason for this subject's posture. Perhaps such posture in a "fight or flight" situation is universal. But I ask those DUers who played football, in the years following your football days, did you ever find yourself in an intense, potentially violent situation, when you either consciously or subconsciously applied lessons learned and drills undertaken during football practice? Namely, to assume this kind of posture in preparation of a violent event?
