Recall: Who'll be Lt. Gov. if Bustamante wins?
If the governor-elect, i.e. Bustamante, appoints him, then I won't have a problem voting for him if he promises to appoint a Green (an independent like Arianna will also do). The problem is that he won't promise, because he doesn't need the Green votes to win, apparently :(...

1. Bustamante sunk himself
after his "n-word" comment, and his explanation. Doesn't deserve to be governor.

4. just heard a snippet on the radio yesterday
apparently Bustamante said the "n-word" in a public statement, then in an interview afterwords claimed, "I couldn't believe that word came out of my mouth."

Anyone got a link?

6. not at all...
He is supported by civil rights groups. He was talking about racist oppression and was talking about Jim Crow laws - it was in that context that his rhetoric got ahead of him. This is GOP disinformation...

3. Simple: Gray Davis.
Doesn't the Governor get to appoint the Lt Governor? That'd be perfect! Than Bustamante could resign, Davis could ascend back into the office of Governor, Davis could appoint Bustamante Lt Governor, and we could sit back and watch the Freepers go apeshit! lol..

5. I'm asking you who appoints the LG
In normal elections, governors and LG's are elected in separate races.

7. whoever Bustamante appoints...
the governor appoints people to fill officer vacancies. The Democratic legislature would presumably confirm his choice.
