1. I believe this was a pic of a transport of prisoners to Guantanamo

...I saw this last year. Personally, I have trouble sitting in coach on an airplane for a couple of hours before my legs start to cramp. Imagine sitting on a plate of rumbling, cold steel with a hot bag on your head, and with your arms behind you, strapped closely to others. Nice seatbelts, huh?

. . . first posted at Art Bell's website. My point is that there is a troubling similarity between this picture and what happened at Abu Graihb. This and other pictures from Guantanamo as well as the picture of American Taliban - John Walker Lindh show that this administration was well aware of our military's style of treating detainees.

I understand now that prisoners will be blindfolded instead of hooded...whoopie. What is the rationale of depriving them of sight? Might they "signal" one another or what is the deal?
