What makes you hypothesize this , what evidence
or observations ?

Very intriguing thought none the less .

2. This is a "band of brothers." All for one and one for all. Deviations
would probably lead to another book and that is a no no.

3. Hi bolokshi!!! My spouse seems to think so.
The thinking is that Rummy doesn't seem to think that he's done anything wrong. He has a big enough ego that he will not allow his name in the history books to be tarnished and that he will begin to spill the beans and that he won't quietly fall on his sword or take one for the team as he isn't a team player. If he's going down he'll ensure that others go down with him.

I don't necessarily agree with all of this....just passing it along.

4. I think he might be...
Otherwise, Rummy would have gone to the WH instead of Bush going to the Pentagon. Bush slapped Rummy down last week and then Cheney comes to Rum's defense and now, lo and behold, Bush goes to Rummy's home turf and says a lot of nice things about him.

So who do YOU think won the skirmish?

5. Henry Kissinger, no slouch himself , is on the record as stating that
that Rumsfeld is one of the most ruthless men he has ever met.
Now there's some food for thought. I thought there was
some bad blood between poppy and rummy from the earlier
administration too.

7. Cheney and Rumsfeld are tight.
That's enough said. Rummy was Cheney's mentor in years past.

8. He refused to treat prisoners from the "Palestinian Brigade" as political
This was a Brigade in the Commonwealth 8th Army comprised of Jews who lived in Palestine. When many were captured in the Gazala Campaign during the summer of '42, Hitler sent word that they were to be treated as political prisoners. Rommel did not allow this to happen. (Mercifully, there were no Waffen SS troops in the Afrika Korps, and very few politicals.)

When he captured Tobruk and was getting ready to push into Egypt, a group of South African Officers came to petition him that he remove the blacks from the prison cages where they were held. I'm not sure of his exact quote, but it was something to the effect that they were good enough to die for you, you can certainly sleep with them. There were no separate accomodations.

On the other hand, Rommel, who was a war hero from WW1, was one of Hitler's early supporters within the standing army, and you can see him leading a detachment in a parade in "Triumph of the Will". Yes, he had a change of heart, but he deserves some heat too.

10. "Now listen here jr."
snarled darth as leaned over the desk, towering menancingly over the shriveled chimp*. "That little smackdown poppy gave you is going to look like a lovetap after I get done with you".
Jr* whimpered as he drew himself into a fetal ball, the sting of poppie's hand burned anew on his skin. He wanted to run away to his special place, but the mean sod wouldn't let him.
Grabbing the chimp* by the lapels darth hissed "I know where the bodies are, got that".

Yes, I think he's terrified of darth.
