Pickles insists there is a silver lining of rape/torture/murder of Iraqis
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/afp/20040510/pl_afp/us_iraq_prisoners&cid=1521&ncid=1480

US first lady saddened by Iraq prisoner abuse scandal

<snip>She insisted however, that there is a silver lining.

"This is the really good news about the United States of America, though. That is the pictures came to light. People will be prosecuted. Unlike under Saddam Hussein (news - web sites), where there were torture rooms and know one knew about them and didn't come to light," the US first lady said.

1. It is a sad day when we have to prove to the rest of the world
"we are bad, but not as bad as Saddam".

Laura is a stepford wife through and through.

3. If no one knew about the torture rooms, why does Bush* cite them 24/7?
There are so many logic problems associated with this STUPID quote that my head is spinning faster than Linda Blair's.

"Good news" indeed.

9. Notice that the scandal "makes our troops more vulnerable"
"It is really, really sad, I mean, it is sad. I think we -- we agonize as each of those pictures come out and as we see them. It is a picture we don't want the rest of the world to have of us," she said, adding that she was concerned about US troops safety noting the scandal "makes our troops more vulnerable."

NOw that is some spin for ya. Apparently the reporting on this is anti-troop anti-'Murkan??? That's what it sounds like they are going to try and spin this.

At least she is staying busy

I'm working on building a children's hospital in Iraq," the US first lady said.

How nice of her to want to build a children's hospital to care for the children her husband is responsible for blowing up! The gall of this family is mind blowing.

The troops are in more danger because of the photos, which is probably true but...........THEY SHOULDN'T BE THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!

13. Pickles is clueless

I saw her on Charlie Gibson this morning(Charlie the neocon) and even he asked her,"Why is it that teachers don't like No Child Behind?"
Her answer was,"that's just not true."

She also said that the good teachers never quit- HA
That is a big fat lie. I know a lot about education and good teachers do get out, many times, because of all the paper work and endless testing of "NO CHILD" --it is an underfunded program that is worthless IMO.

Charlie did not follow up and she kept on talking about her Library Grants that she was happy to give away to schools. Nice gesture but it doesn't put a dent in the lack of books in inner city schools across the USA.

Pickles is really more dangerous than * because she smiles. Some people don't read it that she is clueless. When he smirks they get an idea that th elevator doesn't go up to the top floor.

14. Press Conferences and Pickle's little helper don't go together well
Pickles needs to stick to being interviewed by Weekly Reader about stuff like returning library books on time when she going to the bathroom for her little helper.

"What a drag it is getting old
"Kids are different today’"
I hear ev’ry mother say
Mother needs something today to calm her down
And though she’s not really ill
There’s a little yellow pill
She goes running for the shelter of a mother’s little helper
And it helps her on her way’ gets her through her busy day

"Things are different today’"
I hear ev’ry mother say
Cooking fresh food for a husband’s just a drag
So she buys an instant cake and she burns her frozen steak
And goes running for the shelter of a mother’s little helper
And two help her on her way’ get her through her busy day

Doctor please’ some more of these
Outside the door’ she took four more
What a drag it is getting old

"Men just aren’t the same today"
I hear ev’ry mother say
They just don’t appreciate that you get tired
They’re so hard to satisfy’ You can tranquilize your mind
So go running for the shelter of a mother’s little helper
And four help you through the night’ help to minimize your plight

Doctor please’ some more of these
Outside the door’ she took four more
What a drag it is getting old

"Life’s just much too hard today’"
I hear ev’ry mother say
The pusuit of happiness just seems a bore
And if you take more of those’ you will get an overdose
No more running for the shelter of a mother’s little helper
They just helped you on your way’ through your busy dying day"

("Mother's Little Helper" by the Rolling Stones)

26. What a great song. I like this one too:
I've seen your face before, running round those social circles
Yeah I've seen your face before looking so young though you're so much older
I've seen the likes of you glancing back over your shoulder
Yeah I've see the likes of you

I've seen the likes of you, in all the high fasion magazines
Yeah I've seen the likes of you peering out the back of that Cadillac limousine
I've seen the likes of you, in images and in effigy
Yeah I've seen the likes of you

If I never saw you again, well A thousand years would only be too soon
Whenever you look my direction I get a feeling of impending doom

I've seen the likes of you middle of political showdown
I've seen the likes of you cheering on at Waterloo and Vietnam
I've seen the likes of you laughing as Rome was burning down
Yeah I've seen the likes of you

17. Good God...
this is the most utterly inane statement I've seen in 62 years of life!! There is absolutely nothing about torture that is good news. Most of the world knew about Saddam's torture rooms for years as well as his other cruelties.

The United States of America had no business engaging in these same activities! There is no excuse for these actions possible. I've said it before and I'll say it again.

George Bush is the Commander in Chief. George Bush set the tone for these atrocities and knew about them. If Saddam is going to be tried and punished for the crimes in his name, George Bush is equally responsible for the crimes in HIS name and should be impeached and tried for those crimes of torture. It's time for the House of Representatives to put party politics aside and stand up for its nation, do it's constitutional job and start impeachment proceedings.

23. Please someone tell the Bushes to STOP refering to Saddam's
"torture rooms" (and "rape rooms"). In light of the information now becoming disclosed... it really sounds out of touch, and rather camel head in the sand-esque... and coming from the top (or wife of the top) just betrays how much they don't get how damaging this is - and how, according to many reports including the military's own investigation, widespread this sort of activity was - beyond just a hadful of bad actors.

Edited on Mon May-10-04 11:04 AM by Cat Atomic
the PROBLEM was that the pictures became public.

So... it seems to me like our administration would prefer to do things like Hussein. The photos were not RELEASED by the administration. The administration tried to hide them.

So Pickles' bright side looks a bit dim.

Discipline, Pickles. Don't start taking your week's dosage all on Monday.

This is the customary Bushevik Orwellian Intelligence Insulting Lies.
