Pakistani told to capture Osama in July.....per Josh Marshall
as if we couldn't guess......the evil thugs in the white house will do anything to stay in power.

Just to pass on some added information, about which we'll be saying more. There is chatter in Pakistani intelligence circles that the US has let the Pakistanis know that the optimal time for bagging 'high value' al Qaida suspects in the untamed Afghan-Pakistani border lands is the last ten days of July, 2004

1. So Much For An "October" Surprise
Rove has got to be desperate about now -- the prison scandal's getting worse (and we haven't yet gotten to what are apparently pictures of rapes and orgies), the economy's 'recovery' isn't trickling down, oil prices keep climbing, and Bush's spending is neither elevating his numbers or driving Kerry's numbers all that far down.

If he has to 'burn' Osama to try and prevent a Kerry bounce post-July, he's in deep crap.

5. Osama is already frozen in carbonite
They just have to decide when to defrost him...

heck, even some Republicans believe Bush has him on ice waiting for the right time to unveil him.

14. The point is the hunt
They want a big Pakistani operation in the press at that time. (If it catches someone all the better.)

4. August 23
That's the speculation I heard from a CIA contact (who, unlike Bob Novak, I won't name)

That timing actually would make sense.... it would give them a week of media hype before going into the Bush coronation/WTC exploitation fest.

8. Hey, Osama is caught in July...
...in August Dubya gets total support by freepers at NRC, in September the Saudis increase oil production and the price of oil drops 10%, then in October BushCo unleashes their surprise crisis and on November 1, 2004 martial law is declared in the United States followed by the release of an American rework of Leni Reifenstahl's 1935 film "Triumph of the Will".

9. The Pakistanis haven't exactly been reliable operatives.
Seems like they've bungled just about every job the US has given them.

12. You mean like their ISI paying Atta 100K a month before 9.11?
They pulled that off quite well.

13. Good point.
I think the Pakistani heart still belongs to Osama. They're playing U.S. for a sucker, imho.
