This story highlights why we will have a Draft in the near future!
Do any of us really think that the soldiers coming back from Iraq will re-up! No fuc@king way!

'Bring us home': GIs flood US with war-weary emails

Susan Schuman is angry. Her GI son is serving in the Iraqi town of Samarra, at the heart of the 'Sunni triangle', where American troops are killed with grim regularity.
Breaking the traditional silence of military families during time of war, Schuman knows what she wants - and who she blames for the danger to her son, Justin. 'I want them to bring our troops home. I am appalled at Bush's policies. He has got us into a terrible mess,' she said.

Schuman may just be the tip of an iceberg. She lives in Shelburne Falls, a small town in Massachusetts, and says all her neighbours support her view. 'I don't know anyone around here who disagrees with me,' she said.

1. I'm afraid....
I have to agree. I think a draft is on the horizon after this disastrous clusterf*ck in Iraq. Who in the hell are they going to get to join the reserves/National Guard? Iraq and Afghanistan have kind of blown that "one weekend a month" thing right out of the water.

2. I hear
that they are already re-activating recent retirees from the military. But rest assured they won't start drafting people until after the election. Even Shrub is smart enough to know that starting a draft will cost him the election.

3. That would be a good question
to ask *shrub during the campaign. Have him deny they will implement the draft. If he steals another election, we must confront him....

4. What have you heard?
My son's just finished active duty in the Marines. I hope to God they don't pull him in again, he's got 2 years reserve duty to do. He's a British citizen with a green card, what would happen if he went back to the UK, does anyone have an idea?
