Should the Dem candidate show up?
OK, there was a post earlier talking about
the many protests planned for the RNC
convention in NY 04....something like
a few hundred thousand are gonna show.

So, would it be cool or what for the Dem nominee
to show up also? Speaking on a stage to all of them?

Also, there should be ONE theme....like every
single person holding ONE sign with.....
"Stop exploiting 9/11" on it.

I think that would be very cool.

1. Not sure about the candidate.

But I do like the theme. Bush has been milking the blood of 9/11 for his own partisan purposes. I can imagine Karl Rove dancing around after hearing about those planes going into the buildings.

EDIT: I also like the idea of making it a solemn protest, rather than a loud and chaotic protest. Americans can see chaos anytime they turn-on the TV; solemnity is more of a rarity, and thus will have more of an impact. Maybe a few thousand people with those signs and candles. THAT would make for a stunning visual image.

2. solomnity with agent provocateurs
Look at the fights a few provacateurs can get going on various discussion boards. don't you think rove and company would make it very difficult for a solemn protest to happen. at least they would try. but I like the idea of a huge protest, maybe a candle-light vigil.

3. This just never occurred to me!
After all, it's the RNC convention.

Do we want repukes showing up at DNC conventions?

Perhaps our nominee should NOT show up, but a silent vigil with thousands of 'our' people might be lovely, IMO.
