OMG, just read this freeper post
I was paging through one of those nauseating daily threads, this one the countdown until they "reelect" Bush, and look at this gem I found:

To: flutters

Bush has taken a harsh anti-veteran position and I am a veteran much affected by it. He can die with his tongue stuck out and I won't care, because he doesn't care if I die that way. He came across in the last election as the man who understood and supported veterans, and he has proven to be a president who has added a lot of new veterans to the rolls, so he can screw them too. He is just a millionaire with no regard for real life. He will not have my vote if he does not reverse his anti-veteran course. I will not abstain. I will vote for someone, and it could be him-- but it will not be Bush if he does not square himself away. He's a multimillionaire, so is his secdef, and so are too many of those sons of biches. When it comes to real life, they don't have a clue. But people like me outnunber those wealthy bastards and we also can vote, and we are many, and they are few, and one-term presidencies are what you get if you don't do what the voters expect.

2. Sending troops off
to war and cutting their benefits at the same time is crass and insensitive. How much more blatant does Dubya have to be before those who support him figure it out that he does not have their best interests at heart. Looks like this guy woke up and is starting to pay attention.

6. If you ever ask why so many idiots will vote to go to war and cut
veterans benefits, there is an answer. Some of the right wing idiots think that the military people live high off the hog on their taxes, and it is just fair to cut their benefits even in war. Ps. I'm life -time military and have seen this first hand.

3. Nice to see a modicum of reason
A point of light among the dismal dittoheads. Every once in a while one of them catches a glimpse beyond the fractured perspective they are brainwashed into and it shimmers their position brightly. Kind of reminds me of a few episodes in the Animatrix.

5. Here's a lesson
Freepers aren't going to accept our agenda any more than we are going to accept theirs. Yet, can we not agree that cutting veteran benefits, combat pay, etc. while they are in military action is callous and is not an action of a 'compassionate conservative' at all.

10. I hate to agree with Freepers, but.....
....that was very well said (for a Repukelican)

Pat Buchanan, or Bob Barr, or given the recent rumblings over the Supreme Court, maybe even Pat Robertson is going to jump into this Presidential race one of these days, and is going to split a lot of the hardcore right wing away from Junior. Meanwhile, some of the more sane moderates might even be considering the Dem nominee, given the Slaughtergate scandals and Roe V Wade potentials.....

Electronic voter fraud notwithstanding, it's starting to look like George Jr is in deep monkey shit

12. Slaughtergate - That's Perfect. Nice job
You need to send this term to the news outlets. They'll go nuts over it.

11. Sweet!
The issue that cuts through all the bullshit is always class awareness. This soon-to-be former "freeper" is already on his way to a new political perspective. Thanks for posting this here, ButterflyBlood.
