Lynndie Englands hometown and Racism Closet and open
if you have seen the other thread you are aware of the open racism such as these quotes
“To the country boys here, if you’re a different nationality, a different race, you’re sub-human. That’s the way girls like Lynndie are raised.

“Tormenting Iraqis, in her mind, would be no different from shooting a turkey. Every season here you’re hunting something. Over there, they’re hunting Iraqis.”
I was thinking about this and i came to the conclusion at least they were open and honest about their racism and bigotry.
How many times have we heard the closet racism such as whenrepukes talk about "welfare queens" you know its code word for blacks.Or anti immigration talk
Any way i think we should all take the time to examine the un conscionous racism in our own lives. how do you feel when you see a group of young black men at night? What do you think about large hispanic families? What comes to mind when you see an arab man on a plane?

1. Good Questions
What comes to YOUR mind, corporatewhore, when you see a white male on the street?

2. How do you feel when you see an obese person?
What thoughts run through your mind when someone speaks with a southern accent? Does Blue Grass music make you think of the movie Deliverance? Are you afraid of southerners? How do you react when somebody suggests that a group pause to pray for a moment?

Food for thought. Good thread!

4. There's a big difference between
being prejudiced and treating people worse than animals. Those people are psychopaths.

Most people have prejudices but it doesn't mean they want to (or would) abuse and torment people whose differences they may not be comfortable with.

6. Think Not?
Do you really think so?

Please don't get me wrong here, but I have heard far too many of my countrymen and countrywomen say that "Americans could never torutre other people".

My own thought is that anyone who harbors prejudice -- ANYONE who harbors prejudice -- could, under the right circumstances, engage in torment, and possibly even torture, of the people whose differences they may not be comfortable with.

Hatred does have consequences.

14. It doesn't even require prejudice
Put in the right situation, most of us would engage in torture of other people, for no apparent reason. It's a sad fact of human nature.

tying people to the back of pickup trucks and dragging them through the streets because of the color of their skin.

They were hanging people from tree limbs until they died - because of the color of their skin.

A little torture doesn't phase them . . .

8. Lynchings happened in Ilinois and other northern states as well.
If you think that American atrocities happen only in the south, you are in for a rude surprise when you someday learn the facts.

13. That isn't true
http://64.233.167.104/search?q=cache:Wpy-ijfO7v8J:www.pbs.org/harrymoore/terror/k.html+KKK+William+Bedford+Forest&hl=en

The Klan was first organized in 1866 in Pulaski, Tennessee, by ex-Confederate soldiers. The first Imperial Wizard was former Confederate general Nathan Bedford Forest, who disbanded the Klan in 1869 to avoid government sanctions.

The Modern Klan

The modern Klan was reborn in 1915, when William J. Simmons, an Alabama physician, led a cross-burning ceremony on Stone Mountain, Georgia. An effective promoter, Simmons played on anti-black, anti-Catholic, and anti-Jewish sentiment to build the Klan into a formidable power. Simmons was dethroned as imperial wizard in 1922 by Hiram Wesley Evans, and by 1925, the Klan had an estimated three million members nationwide. By 1928, however, membership had shrunk to no more than several hundred thousand.

During the Depression, the Klan continued to wither away -- except in Florida, which had an estimated 30,000 members. Jacksonville, Miami, Orlando, and Tampa were the most powerful klaverns.

Around my neck-of-the-woods, we learn torture and murder is ok....

...sounds like Bush's "cowboy mentality" caught hold with some Americans.
No wonder they think george is a 'great president".

I think this is a sorry excuse offered up by the repukes, to justify the Iraq atrocities.
Fortunately the rest of the WHOLE EFFING WORLD and most of the American citizens believe differently.

Prosecute them all. War Criminals, profiteering, cronyism, murder, treason.
Start with george.
