Was Cheney hospitalized in Virginia a few weeks ago?
Cheney ill here, or not?

Local and federal officials are tight-lipped about talk that Vice President Dick Cheney was recently treated at Culpeper Regional Hospital and released.

Was Vice President Dick Cheney recently treated at Culpeper Regional Hospital?

Some with connections to the hospital say they heard that Cheney was recently treated at and released from the facility.

A spokesman for Cheney declined to comment.

When asked yesterday whether it was true, hospital spokeswoman Lynn Martin said, "We have no record in our system of Mr. Cheney being here."

When further asked if Cheney had been seen by hospital personnel but there was simply no record of the visit, Martin replied, "We have no record in our system of Mr. Cheney being here."

When asked if his office had helped provide security for the reported visit, Culpeper County Sheriff Lee Hart replied: "No. He has his own people."

When asked if the Sheriff's Office knew that Cheney was or would be at the hospital, Hart said, "We had some knowledge."

When questioned further, Hart said he could say no more until he made a telephone call. Less than two minutes later the sheriff called back to report, "We had no knowledge of the incident."

1. "We have no record in our system of Mr. Cheney being here."
Hey, that sounds just like the American Hospital in Dubai, regarding reports they'd treated bin Laden in July 2001!

6. Seems strange they had a room in the Tallahassee hospital
just in case he needed it this past weekend when he gave the commencement speech at Florida State University.. Said they always do this when the upper crust comes to town, maybe/maybe not. I suppose he could die and they would withhold the info from the public as the real President would no longer be in office.

12. The secret service visits the hospital they designate to treat
the president or vice president when they visit other cities and towns.
I've been advised of what to do at our hospital..This is when GHW was VP to the great fornicator.

As far as the hospital having no record of Cheny's admitance...they are required by law (HIPPA Act) to say just that if the patient does not want made public his/her stay in the hospital.

2. They can't tell you
if anyone has been a patient in their facility. It's called patient confidentiality and with the new HIPPA laws it's only gotten more stringent.

4. did you see the other thread?
About the fact that a state official was taken to a hospital in the last couple of days and ensconced in a room that was being held for Cheney in case he became ill while in town? It had secret service guards, and flowers, and a big-screen television.

What the hell is going on? What??

5. Cheney's on borrowed time.
He had a bypass twenty years ago. Twenty years is just about how long a bypass lasts, I think.

7. I just had to guffaw at that one man's hospital stay.
He went in with a suspected heart attack and ended up in an elegant private room with flowers and all the amenities.

Seems this was the last vacant room in the hospital, was reserved for Cheney in case he needed it. Cheney was giving a fundraiser there.

ROFLMAO.

10. weird
Cheney had a bypass 20 years ago, 4 MI's, couple PTCA's and stents, has CHF and an implanted cardiac defibrillator (ICD). Culpeper Regional doesn't seem to have a cardiac cath lab, so I don't think it's heart related.

13. Dick Cheney is literally one heartbeat away from a dirt nap

A cardiac cath lab will do him no good. It's crack-open-the-rib-cage-and-hope-for-the-best time if ANYTHING happens to him.

As a physical therapist, I had the unfortunate experience of working with someone with an AICD (automatic implanted cardiac defibrillator) when the damn thing went off. My arm felt like it had been hit with a sledgehammer, and it was numb for at least a half an hour. These things are no joke, and Cheney is in some sad fucking shape if he has one of them in him. I have no doubt that his "undisclosed location" is most likely an ICU.

14. It is amazing
that someone like that can do even what he does, no matter how much or how little that is. He's living on borrowed time with one of those things. Heart muscle has to be damn near gone. The only thing I'd want out of Crashcart is to make it till after the election. No way we'd want this kind of October suprise.
