Perle Has *Not* Sued Hersh for Libel
Edited on Sat Aug-09-03 10:27 AM by UTUSN
Could it be that the allegations were TRUE and NOT "libelous"? Not that PERLE's having had to take a bit of demotion would be a sign of the TRUTH or anything like that. Yes, I am indulging in some unseemly gloating here, just because PERLE stands for despicability (is that a word?). Btw, Tweety said the other day that WOLFOWITZ is a sweet charmer compared to PERLE. Hope the news coverage doesn't stir him to meet the deadline----no, wait, that would be granting some legitimacy to his case, I take it back.

SY OF RELIEF?

FIVE months after ex-Pentagon adviser Richard Perle said he was suing The New Yorker's Seymour Hersh for libel, the defense policy bigwig has yet to file papers. Perle made a huge stink after Hersh reported possible conflicts of interest while Perle was chairing the Pentagon's Defense Policy Board and simultaneously doing business with companies affected by its actions. In the interim other news organizations made similar allegations. Slate notes that if Perle doesn't make good on the threat soon, the statute of limitations will run out in 32 weeks.

...and the Nation article they reference:

What a low-rent two-bit hustler. The megabucks from the mideast deals he's brokering aren't enough, he's shaking down every media outfit for walking around money.

3. Remember he called Hersh a terrorist? On television!

Thought he was going to ship him off to Guantanamo.

Who could be slimier than this guy? And why is he STILL HERE? He's been caught war-profiteering, on a war HE sold the country on.

4. Why Is He Still Here?
Because he eminently meets the Shrub mal-administration standards?
