What evil is being hatched in Crawford ?
Whatever it is, it must be militarily in nature. Otherwise, why would Bush, Cheney, and Rummy have the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs sitting in with them? (which brings up the question about the political independence of the military) No doubt, it will be a major change from present policy - more covert and secretive than anything before. Think about the bombing of the Jordanian Embassy...It usually takes 21 days to hatch an egg. How long will it take to hatch the new evil plan of this Administration?

1. I think you're onto something.
And that it will happen close to the 9/11 anniversary.

4. If it is NK then the bushies are certifiably insane
I can not see any scenario where China won't be drawn, with support
(covert or open) from Russia.
This would mean that the US could conquer a devastated Korean
peninsula, but not avoiding the loss of major military assets
(carrier, escorts, B-2 bomber, fighters) and the world on the
brink of all out confrontation.

12. Everyone is looking at this wrong
Isn't it simplicity itself to rest assured that whatever blood and chaos breaks out around Korea does not affect our interests so much as all our main rivals? Why is that too callous to contemplate? That is exactly how PNAC thinks. We would be there to mop up or bomb from afar. I think the players there have got the hint. The multi-lateral talks the US may be planning to sabtaoge may have the tables turned against them by a united front.

But you are right about their facial expressions. When they are smug they have it all sown up. When they are nervous they are going to steal and kill quite a lot and fear the consequences should it go wrong or opposition hit them square on.

I'd put them all under truth serum and whatever to have them spill their guts. These guys are the real terrorists. The rest are wannabe amateurs.

6. trying to get Iraq situation under control?
The "drip, drip, drip" of daily fatalities and the potential for a large uprising as conditions deteriorate and occupation goes on seem to me to call for either a strong approach now or certain public opinion shift to the negative in the US. Not simply the uneasiness many have toward the situation but soon his platitudes and "folksy" statements won't even work on my sister and b-in-law who like to "give him the benefit of the doubt" on the war issue. Even their "support" (such as it is) is eroding.

I'm wondering if they aren't just trying to close that gaping wound.

7. OH DEAR GOD (with apologies to the various religious affiliations
at DU). I have this vision of Shrub sitting naked on a really ugly, pulsing, slimey egg not at all unlike the ones Sigourney Weaver found so troublesome in the "Alien" movies.

Maybe the exiting creature will slide up his butt and divert, if only for a little while, his small mind from destroying the world.

8. OilBrainTrust must escalate to maintain-2ndLawThermodynamics
This is the secret ticking time bomb under the feet of Dick Cheney and George W Bush. The US has 3% of world energy resources, but uses 28% of those resources, and the USA is no longer geographically situated to exploit them. Oil is capitalism's crack cocaine, and the Bush gang is waging a turf war to keep it coming.

The US is about to become a problem for
the world, where we have previously been

13. Then it would be appropriate
for Mars to be at it's closest point to earth in 50,000(might only be 6000) years.

Anyway, if you really want to worry about what is going down in Crawford read this. These guys are insane if they try to pull this off. They forget that NK has an airforce, a navy and millions of troops. They also forget the millions of people live within striking range of NK's conventional weapons and they forget the China might not agree to sit on their hands if we attack NK. Very scary stuff and these maniacs are capable of anything right now.

N. Korea next to hear U.S. war drum

Beijing — A senior Pentagon adviser has given details of a war strategy for invading North Korea and toppling its regime within 30 to 60 days, adding muscle to a lobbying campaign by U.S. hawks urging a pre-emptive military strike against Pyongyang's nuclear facilities.

Less than four months after the end of the Iraq war, the war drums in Washington have begun pounding again. A growing number of influential U.S. leaders are talking openly of military action against North Korea to destroy its nuclear-weapons program, and even those who prefer negotiations are warning of the mounting danger of war.

9. surprises and same old same old
What was jarring in the aftermath of 911 was when I forced myself to look away from the scenes of catastrophe to what the government was doing. It was almost physically straining then. Where was the secuirty? Whta was all that strange behavior and studied innocence of the WH, their positioning, their talk and actions all about?

We still have no answers, which itself speaks to ominous suspicions confirmed. But we do have a startling, absolutely fixed pattern of behavior. Whatever your theory that waits public discolosure of evidence, the Bush team is fixed like a laser on its agneda and its agenda ONLY. Every piece of reality, every event, every personnage is only calculated to hhow it s can be exploited to further the agenda.
At the LEAST all issues of security of Americans are dismissed or relegated or given up on in the SAME pattern as their treatment of global warming and coroporate energy. They quickly shrug off a crisis to get back to how it will help them achieve their goals.

You don't need MIHOP or even LIHOP to see the results. There is absolutely nothing and no one that figures above their plan. We are all cannon fodder, our nation economy and military a tool. The evils become goods for their plan. The goods become their goods.

You should be afraid every day because only the craziest of dictators is so fixated in dominating reality for self interest and we have a whole nest of demons extending into CEO zealots and Tsars and the worst and most bought off of religious fanatics and thugs. And decent people and people not this insane are letting it all happen and setting themselves up for more shocks and surprises because they cannot make that jarring twist to call them out completely.

So if we get nuked that shock will cover the greater one. That Bushco has been waiting and ready and relieved that this has happened for their further exploitation. All the signs have been piece by piece laid out and not fully awakened the people. That NO great preparations have been made for real security, anymore than Diebold has made blackbox voting secure with smoke and mirrors reassurance. NOW it is LIHOP if they can get through the real American professionals now on the alert.

The result will be they can get back to the march on the rest of world's oil supplies. War for the oligarchs and crushing feeble American democracy.

15. I wish he would stay Up North (Where he was born)

And stay far away from here (Texas - where he IS NOT From). The 30 NM "shield the quaking-coward" aka "Traveling resident Temporary Flight Restriction" area certainly screws up air travel in central TX when he visits his "ranch" (where the paint was still drying when he first set foot inside in Nov 2000).

But the main reason for being nervous, is that the BFEE certainly must be planning something dreadful for this fall. Look at the complexity, and sheer size, of PATRIOT-I: do you think that was written between 9/11 and 2 October 2001 when "Provide Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism" (PATRIOT) Act of 2001 was introduced in House?

No. PATRIOT-I was written during his last infamous August Off. With certain knowledge that there would be a need for such legislation before the end of summer.

What evil is being hatched there now?

BTW, you might keep in mind that his Crawford Compound is closer to Waco than was the Branch-Davidian compound. No, make that closer to Wacko.
