Google goodness
Not that I like or support Google (the Wal-Mart of the internet), but check it out.

Type

weapons of mass destruction

into google's main page and hit the "I'm feeling lucky" button.

...stop me if you've seen this already

2. Umm
How's Google the Wal-Mart of the internet? I'm sure Wal-Mart employees wouldn't mind trading places.

4. There are quickly becoming a monopoly...
but that's about the only thing I can think of. I don't agree with all their practices, but they are a FAR cry from WalMart. Ask anyone who works for them.

5. That's true
I don't buy that "we will not be evil" tosh, especially now that they're going public. Google has the potential to control information in an extremely pervasive way, but I'll wait for evidence of them using it to influence political outcomes before condemning them. Sometimes I can't help the feeling that Google News is somewhat slanted to the right, but it's likely the effect of the dominant politics in the media, rather than nefarious algorithmic decisions by the company.

And, if nothing else, they've treated their workers well. So far.
