Here's my new bumper sticker: 'Get a clue, Bush and Rummy knew!"
The orders to treat the prisoners of war from the war on terra came straight from the top. Bush and his top military brass knew how they were going to be treated, hence the announcement by the administration that the Geneva Convention rules did not apply and these were a 'different class' of prisoners.

Get a clue! Bush and Rummy knew!

4. I don't think Saddam ever pretended about what he was doing.
He was using his power to put down an attempt to overthrow his government by the Kurds. We may not like him and we may not like what he did. The Kurds were supported by the US special ops to do just what they did...sow dissent and disruption to the Saddam regime and they paid the consequences. Saddam was brutal, inhumane and sadistic. Does that mean we should be like him? And just what do you think those in power would do here if there was an attempt to overthrow the government that was sponsored, instigated, and supported by a foreign nation?
