A Plea of Desperation to the Kerry Campaign
Word has it that the Kerry campaign folks actually cruise DU looking for the temperature of the Democratic base. If true, that's good, that's very good.

So ...

Dear Kerry People:

I'm actually down on my knees, hands together, pleading, imploring, begging you in all humility and supplication not to give the VP nod to Gephart or any of the other "conventional widsom" choices. You have to make a bold and unequivocally progressive choice in who you choose. You MUST show the country and the world that you are serious as a heart attack about bringing us back from the brink of destruction of all we hold dear. This will be your first decision that makes a difference. I beg of you: Go with your heart not with your head! PLEASE DON'T BLOW IT! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE CHOOSE WISELY!

You're all we have at this point. You're it. The future of this nation rests upon your shoulders and the choices you make. We have no where else to go. Utterly no where else.

Bob D.

1. I email the Kerry camp every day
begging them not to pick Gep. That man is so boring that he's totally monochromatic -- hair, skin, lips -- all a nondescript shade of peach.

We need someone to get out there and tear these republicans some new assholes.

3. So bob, who might that be?
This bold, progressive choice? None of the "conventional wisdom" types -- who might that be? Surely not Hillary. Surely not Kucinich. Who ya got in mind?

4. Here's hoping they are paying attention, but...
I don't think we're the 'democratic base', really. I think we, in general, pay a lot more attention and are a lot more fired up about events than most of the public. So yeah, snag some ideas, but don't count on the rest of the country to be as informed or progressive/proactive as we all are :D

6. Kerry, use your HEAD and heart.
You dont' have to be bold. You don't have to surprise. You need to pick the person whom you think will help you win the election.

Who will excite the voters? Who will complement you? Who offers qualities that will highlight your own, and fill in the blanks? Who will fight for you and the party till the last dog dies?

I hope you will pick John Edwards. But moreover, I hope you will use both your heart and your head to make the decision that will take us where we have to go.

8. What is needed is someone with energy and with electricity
It would not be Gephardt. All I can envision is him in the rose garden, kissing the shoes of the idiot, Bush. (along with Lieberman)

It is time to put aside the good old, beltway boys club

This is too serious. We do NOT need more of the same of the good old boys club

Ugh--how frustrating. HOw frustrating that is seems it is verboten to criticize our great leader, George Bush.

How can this happen in a democracy

Well, it is really not a democracy i the strict sense of the word--it is a corporatocracy where the rich are running our lives.

and we stand around and beg them for jobs

9. I agree, we need a strong VP to rally
around our President, our party and country. He/She needs to be strong, motivational and keep the parties beliefs close to heart.
And being thick skinned won't hurt either, cause before this election is over their gonna need it, so they can come through swinging. I also really like your comment about us be dependant on them to make good choices for us because we have nowhere else to go.
--Very true.

11. JK's VP needs to guarantee 3 states on Nov 2nd.
That's the most important factor this time.
