I think Kerry is a hunk, anyone else?
and he's very manly. So there.

(yes I'm getting a savior complex, which means I have a Pavlovian response when I see or hear an intelligent, decent man that can take me out of this national nightmare that is Orwellian and seems to never end, it seems like a natural response to the presence of evil dumbya masquerading as the "common man")

I just BET he can ride a bike and chew a pretzel at the same time, while juggling his cell phone waiting for leaders of Western Democracies that he hasn't personally pissed off to call him back.

So double there.

He would be a much better President than George Duh-bya Bush and that's good enough for me.

6. This is sad, it proves the negative trumps the positive
as the Kerry bike post has 130 replies, (and I know most are in defending him but still)

What's the man-woman ratio on DU? I guess "hunk" is just taking it too far?

Kerry is taller than Bush. That alone should get him elected.

They did a study on that, I think, but nevermind. He's still far hunkier man wise than any Bush.

This pic is prominent on the "Crushies for Dean" site. They have some others of him, just as hot with that enigmatic smile of his. What a sexy Scorpio. I see him smiling all the time now, so much more at ease these days and it looks really good on him. 'Cept for when he is kicking some serious ass, of course. Yay Dean! :loveya:

IMO.

He looks mightly Presidential. But maybe he ought to stay off the bike. It's kind of effete - and forchrissakes - you can't be falling off!

Get back on the ice - now that was WAAAAAY cool.

But yes, I think John Kerry is handsome.

I've seen the two in photos that make me believe they are two very sexy and "in love" people.

The way a woman wants her husband to acknowledge her in public and in private.
Devoted and sincerely in love.

22. Yes, love nice muscular legs. But sorry, the spandex, the helmet,
the bike shoes, the VERY EXPENSIVE BIKE - just plays into the stereotype. And especially if he's gonna fall off.

Sorry, I know this is very politically incorrect, but you know that's how middle America sees it.

Read here on DU that'll set you back 6 grand or so.

For a bike.

Look, I don't begrudge him a custom bike - he's an avid biker. I'm just saying how it looks. Just more ammo for the asshole media.

60. More wind surfing pix
I think Kerry's a good looking guy. I mean how many men his age could you imagine doing all the sports he does--and wear the clothes he wears to do them, but I agree--lose the spandex bike outfit. Wear cut offs or something to show off those legs but please no spandex.

I don't know what it is about biking clothes--just a total turnoff for me. Maybe he needs to tone down the colors. Effete no, just dorky. On the other hand, I guess there's something attractive in the idea that maybe he doesn't really care what the press or the public thinks about his sports outfits. He's just gonna wear what works for him and the sport.

I was looking the other day at Reagan riding his horse in high English boots and old-fasioned peg top breeches. I have to admit it, he looked awesome. I imagine if a Democrat wore such an outfit to enjoy his favorite sport--or chose as Reagan did to practice what in the public mind is the more "effete" version of that sport (in his case riding English instead of Western) the right wing media would have a field day.

Summer's coming. I'd persnally like to see some more pix of big John windsurfing.

(By the way if there are any horse people out there I don't think riding English is sissy. I do both English and Western and can tell you than anyone who will point a 1,000 pound animal at a large jump has guts. As for what can happen if you do it wrong--think Christopher Reeve)

20. I think I must have the savior complex too, because
one night I had this weird dream that I worked in a museum and Hitler's head was in an old display case and the hat kept falling down, so I kept trying to fix it and I thought, this really should be in a climate-controlled case.

Then it turned out that John Kerry was a big important brain surgeon and he was going to come in and fix it and I felt relieved that the responsibility was off of me and he was going to care of the situation. I thought, "Wow, he's a brain surgeon on top of everything else, we sure do need someone smart like him!"

So save us from Hitler's decaying brain, please, John Kerry!

and I had CSPAN on in the background. Volume was down, but I told my friend to switch over to that channel so she could see him. I think it is the eyes--they actually look like there is something going on behind them. It is that spark that can make a person attractive, regardless of his or her features. I'm glad he's getting his money's worth with the shorter haircut now too.

But OMG! That picture of the young Dean! Wowza!

Great concept. I was impressed by the collective "handsome-ness"
of the whole group of dem campaigners. Can't recall what the function was..maybe NY fundraiser..Bill Clinton was on stage with the others.

We have at least 12 of them I'd say.
Clinton, Kerry, Clark (yumm), Edwards, Sharpton, Kucinich, Dean, Gephart (yes, in blue jeans and flannel, a barn, a horse, bales of hay...)lol, who am I missing now?

And the Grand Lady of the tour, Carol Mosley Braun ( don't think she can't play to the camera??)

Any more? That's only nine..
