Add your favorite wacky insane Bush quotes
Add your favorite wacky scary or funny Bush quotes as we continue this never ending hybrid episode of the Twilight Zone and Groundhog day.

"It's not a dictatorship in Washington, but I tried to make it one in that instance. We are beginning to see some success in opening up federal coffers for faith-based programs." - George W. Bush Jan. 15, 2004 http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn?pagename=article&node=&contentId=A21079-2004Jan15¬Found=true

"A dictatorship would be a heck of a lot easier, there's no question about it," – George W. Bush - July 30, 2001 http://www.businessweek.com/bwdaily/dnflash/jul2001/nf20010730_347.htm

“If this were a dictatorship, it'd be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm the dictator.” – George W. Bush - December 18, 2000 http://www.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0012/18/nd.01.html

"You don't get everything you want," he says, understating the case considerably. "A dictatorship would be a lot easier." George W. Bush July 1998

2. This is a paraphrase
"I've been to war and I've raised twins and I rather go to war"

I forget where this was quoted but it was a real quote from some time before the Iraq war. Likely his raising the twins is as much of a lie as his going to war.

6. Thanks to Ladejarl's site
I've been to war. I've raised twins. If I had a choice, I'd rather go to war.

3. By far my favorite Bush quote
It never got a lot of play because it was said during an interview with a friendly source (and therefore not used in the piece,) but I ran across it in the transcript while investigating the context of some of his other remarks; it's the perfect Bushism, nonsensical yet completely revealing.

"I will use military force as a last resort and as a first resort."

Another from the same interview that's not quite as good:

"One of the most important responsibilities, of course, for the President, is peace. And that's why it's so important to lead the country in this war..."

That was my "Holy Shit! That guy was the President?!?! moment.

4. I suppose this can apply to Iraq as well.
"We don't believe in planners and deciders making the decisions on behalf of Americans." —George W. Bush, Scranton, Pa., Sept. 6, 2000
