We could start by:

• Paying our UN dues


• Withdrawing all troops from all overseas bases


• Striking down the Patriot Act


• Unilaterally reducing our nuclear/bio/chemical stockpiles


• Enforcing 100% tax compliance on corporations


• Working toward ratifying a global warming treaty


• Banning use of landmines and removing all that remain


• Fully funding and supporting the EPA


• Ensuring pay equity for women


• Halting imprisonment of non-violent offenders


• Repealing the death penalty

That should be a good start at repairing our "image".
