Include them all: friends, family, co-workers, associates, strangers.

3. None, I'm afraid
Where I live, it wouldn't matter if Bush kidnapped and murdered a 13 year old girl on live television. People I know would still call him a "man of God" and a "man of principle." Amazing.

4. Maybe,
maybe this will cheer you all up some. Our sons friends grandmother who is 66 years young says she has always voted republican, voted for cowboy. Says she'll never vote for a republican again. They completely lost her when cowboyCO went into Iraq. Oh by the way our son and all of his friends are going to vote for John Kerry. This will be their first time to vote. All in their low 20's. Is this not great or what...

6. I can't give you a number at this time
Just let me say that the organization I work for has identified many, many that will not be voting for him. It's looking very good in my area.

7. Four. Including a GUY WHO SPENT A YEAR WORKING IN THE ADMIN.
He was a low-mid level political public affairs appointee at DOJ who got so pissed at chimp's assault on civil liberties that he quit.

10. Several (3-4)
Edited on Mon May-03-04 08:50 AM by DaveSZ
Some people I know voted for the chimp because of Gore's gun control positions, but it turns out Bush is much worse (in terms of his assault on civil liberties).

I don't think they'll vote for Kerry, but they will probably simply stay home.

Maybe Kerry will do ok as long as he gets some people on the ground in the battleground states, and picks a VP who can help him out on his weak points.

14. I haven't been counting...but...
I pick up on various folks disappointment...but it goes beyond just BushCo...

Rep Billy Shuster (R-PA) was caught spying on his opponent...one Republican friend said "I almost tore up my card..."

Another friend - who is actually pretty liberal - but plays the conservative game just for business, has voiced disappointment with the Conservatives...so it's pretty bad when people wont even pretend to be a conservative anymore...

17. 64 people have seen about 240+ voters leave Bush. Keep kicking!
That's 4 per person.

Only 12 have not heard or seen one.

If this is anywhere near a fair sample, we may just have uncovered a nugget here.

Keep kicking!

18. Know for sure two, not counting their spouses
but I don't know many Republicans.

What I do run into, however, is lots of people who cannot stand Bush who may not even have voted last time, thinking it didn't matter.

This time, they KNOW it matters.

20. Bush has alienated so many, but the problem is with Kerry.
Edited on Mon May-03-04 02:45 PM by DaveSZ
Especially in regards to foreign policy, Kerry sounds just like Bush.

He endorsed the Likud/neocon Sharon plan, and says we need to send more troops to Iraq.

I agree with Ariana H. when she says Kerry needs to give America a clear alternative instead of using the Bush-lite losing strategy.

The best we can hope for is that some former Bush voters stay home or vote 3rd party.

We need to get the word out about the neocons, and how they will destroy this, out beloved nation.

Where are our real Democrats?

Ted Kennedy and Dennis K. are about all we've got speaking out.

:(

19. My problem is I live, not only in TX, but in a part that is such a
bastion of both fundie-ism and rich-I-got-mine-ism that while I wouldn't doubt that there are some who've either had it with this or are at least deeply disturbed and might not vote at all or vote JK, you would never hear it out loud unless it was at the Secret Midnight Torchlight Cave Meeting of the Brotherhood Against the Shrub.

Edited on Mon May-03-04 10:23 PM by janeaustin
I have one friend who will vote for him because she has an abiding belief against abortion, but she also sees that he's not such a hot president.

Otherwise, people are as rabid as we are, or are merely apalled at Bushco.

24. I know of one, an online friend from another site
He's still a Republican, but says that he no longer supports Bush nor will vote for him again.

The turning point for him? Illegal alien amnesty and gay marriage/changing the Constitution.

I still don't agree with him on a lot of issues, but I give him mad props for opening his eyes.
