Hughes in meltdown yet?
When Karen Hughes was on the circuit hawking her book, she would attack Kerry and the Winter Soldier hearings on atrocities, saying he was exaggerating or making it up. She kept repeating "Mah Daddy served in WW2, Korea and Vietnam and never saw any atrocities". Doesn't she look kind of stupid now that the evidence of more US war crimes is spread around the world? Doesn't the fact that in three wars in which millions died, she is not aware of "any atrocities" indicate no interest whatsoever in human rights or even history? I wonder she thinks of her good Ol' 'merikin Christian boys gang banging other boy prisoners in bondage?

Hughes on CNN: "I remember watching Senator Kerry, back when he was against the war, when he came home, and I was very troubled by the kind of allegations that he hurled against his fellow veterans, saying that they were guilty of all kinds of atrocities," said Hughes, the daughter of a retired Army officer who served in three wars, including Vietnam.
"As someone whose father was over there fighting, I don't appreciate that. I resent that. I know my father was not guilty of any atrocities, and I really find that that's an irresponsible kind of charge to make."

1. I'd really like some background on her father
like exactly what he did during the war... Was he front line or back?

2. My dad is a vietnam vet too, and I appreciate Kerry's stand on the war
he may have prevented more senseless deaths in a senseless war!

4. Its encouraging that people are finally outraged.......but.....
This war has been an atrocity from day one's "shock and awe".

We are slaughtering innocent civilians in their own neighborhoods.

We are the "foreign fighters".

We are the bad guys.

7. What's she doing back, anyway?
Didn't she take off to spend more time with her family? So she writes a book - now there's an activity that allows a lot of family time.

8. She has her fingers in her ears shrieking: LA LA LA LA LA LA
"I don't wann hear it!!! It didn't happen!!! It'll make me too sad!!! It's not patriotic!!!!

LALALALALLALALALALALA

I know people like that. They are silly, ineffectual, dingbats who are not connected to reality. Which is probably why Smirky likes her so much.

9. Do you remember that old SNL sketch
called "The Grizzled Old Man Show"?

It was basically a game show for old rednecks and backwoodsmen to see who was the most grizzled. Hughes' words reminded me of it.

During the "show" one of the categories was "Tell me a story, grandpa..." So one of the contestants immediately rang in and said "Well, back in dubya dubya two, me and my squad came up on some Germans sleeping in a trench, and we bayonetted the whole lot of 'em! Wasn't until later we found out the war had been over for a week..."

The host shouted "Correct! Boy, that sure is grizzled!"

The harpy insinuates that Kerry is charging her father with atrocities? Whatta dunce.

Upon edit: Why do these people believe that all Americans are exceptional, wonderful, blessed by God, and never do anything wrong? Americans, by and large, are decent people Ñ but as with any large population Ñ there will always be a criminal and immoral element.
