This Week alert
Edited on Sun May-02-04 09:47 AM by PCIntern
According to a NYC friend of mine, McCain, while he was dissing the 'Mission Accomplished' bullcrap was cut off technically by a loss of the satellite feed and Steph was disconcerted to say the least.

Again, this is second hand. Mine doesn't come on til 11 AM.

This has been a Special Report...

1. My take.. McCain, the master of double speak, tossed it out..
as a diss then he quickly renegged on the diss and gave a weak justification for it himself. Steph was an innocent bystander and gave no input one way or the other.

5. I agree wholeheartedly...McCain is the "master of double speak"
I DO NOT TRUST HIM....He always manages to make comments as such a reasonable, straight talking guy...And if you see him on another occasion, he will give the opposite viewpoint like a reasonable, straight talking guy.....He has been gung ho for the war from the beginning, too...

15. Actually, there was no disconnect on my station. And if he
got disconnected it might be because his original statement was different from what was transmitted on my statation: "Bush*'s statement on the carrier was great recognition for the MEN ON THAT CARRIER." (not exact quote). He might have thought of saying something different, but that was what showed here.

17. I agree...
the media has framed him as a middle-of-the-road maverick but he's a rank and file Republican.

7. About the liutenant's comments (democratic rebuttal to Bush):
He said I don't think that soldiers should be used for political purposes.

3. I am watching and general Myers is the most misinformed, out
of the loop nothing I have seen in my life... or he is a BIG INCOMPETENT LIAR!!! People saw the Saudi General on TV going into Fallujah...he says we are misinformed by the media; he is not the one in charge; he has not been vetted by Iraqi Council; he has not been given authority....
what is the saying: do you want to believe me or your lying eyes?

THIS ADMINISTRATION IS TOTALLY AMAZING!!!
He said "small number involved in torture" but I have not seen the report appearing in the New Yorker. When asked WHY he has not seen it he could not really answer.. Pleeeze...

9. George asked central complain?
Inadequate planning. Using the military and asking too much out of them.

10. Liutenant said his statements are just the tip of the iceberg.
Soldiers are very upset. They were sent to do things the soldiers were not trained or qualified to do. Setting them up for failure.

12. He was responsible for his unit; the administration is responsible
for the entire mission; he wants the same level of accountability for them that he had for his unit.

13. He did not change his course(re: statements when in Iraq):
soldiers doing an excellent job with what they were provided. But AT WHAT COST? ARE WE BETTER IN AMERICA BECAUSE OF HOW THE WAR HAS BEEN CONDUCTED? he does not think so.
