Who can't wait for debates?
Man, that's gonna be fuckin' awesome!

Bush trying to answer a question from an actual opponent. My god that's gonna be great.

3. Why? They will do what they did when Gore won the three debates
Declare Bush the winner and slobber all over his magnificence. I'm really not looking forward to that again. Kerry better have the right make-up on and not roll his eyes....doesn't matter one bit what is said.

10. Hopefully he'll get some haircolor and some botox, ahead of time.
Otherwise, I'm sure the "liberal media" would crow on and on about how old and grey-haired the ancient Vietnam Vet looked, as compared to the youthful and invigorated President.

And, if Kerry "loses" the intellectual "debate" part of the "debate," the after-spin will likely involve hair color and botox.

:eyes:

You're exactly correct, leesa. I don't even care anymore about "debates," honestly. They're not "debates," because nobody argues, and no points nor counterpoints are made. They've become laughable.

4. Slam dunk
But don't count on chimpboy agreeing to many, and he will probably demand a list of the questions before hand, so the zookeepers can write his repsonses.

5. I'm predicting that there
will be no debates. A week or so before the first one the homeland terror meter will bump up to code ernie there by causing a security problem there by calling off the debates.

6. There won't be any debates...
...The President will be too busy directing the War on Terror to have time to spare for electioneering, a decision no one will challenge in the wake of the (choose one)

a.) early September
b.) mid-September
c.) late September

bio-terrorist attack on a major American city.

The press will be unanimous in calling for Senator Kerry to refrain from dividing the President's attention under such circumstances.

7. there will be debates and Bush will win them all
he won't answer any questions
he won't trip over his shoelaces
the press will give him a pass

Gore really blew the debates. The heavy sighing was terribly distracting and made him look nutzo.

Be careful what you wish for.

8. "Bush trying to answer a question from an actual opponent"
Unfortunately, it is not the opponent who asks the questions. The media will throw him softballs as they usually do.

9. i am hearing a lot of la la land
now bush did horribly in the other debates and came out the "winner."

he did horribly on the press conference the other nite, and people raved

so doesnt matter the fool bush makes of himself, if press is still in love awe or delusional with the guy then he will shine

so, i am not sitting on edge of seat to watch kerry kick ass. also i have not been impressed with kerry in these kinda things, he goes to talking points and dont think that does well with him and repeats over and over, where as in his speeches where he can get into something he kicks ass

11. Don't forget
there are a lot of things in the works...the Valerie Plame thing, the 9/11 commission report, and hopefully the Supreme Court will do the right thing and make Cheney give up his energy papers, the Iraq "sovereignty", the electronic ballot boxes are being abandoned one by one. He's got a long way to go before November 2:D

12. What's to stop Bush* from pulling a Schwarzenegger...
...and demanding all questions be scripted and pre-screened? Does it really seem all that unlikely?

13. I say Kerry needs to set the high bar for this
insist on real debates, no questions proffered in advance, allowing point/counterpoint, candidates questioning each other...omg, bush's blood pressure would really shoot up. he'd :nuke:

kerry's a former prosecutor, i would LOVE to see him get to question shrub like he was on cross examination....heh heh heh

14. Kerry has already asked for monthly debates starting now...
...but hasn't been really vocal about the format. I agree, he needs to set the tone and demand a difficult and unscripted debate format.

17. My view of Edwards....
Doesn't say much, but sounds fucking great saying it.

I don't know, I never sensed much substance there during the primary run. Lots of catchphrases.

16. Any debate(s) held
will be so tightly scripted, it will be like chimpy's "press conferences." Take that to the bank. The media whores will prop chimpy no matter what.
