Did anyone hear that two 'Navy' military were killed in Fallujah?
Was this a confirmed report?
What are Navy doing on the ground in Fallujah? (Navy Seals?)
Is this unusual?
What is really going on in Fallujah?

3. Likely specialists of some sort.
Likely attached to a Marine unit.

Remember that the Marine Corps are not really a separate branch of the armed forces, but are a creature of the Navy.

6. They could be support for the Marine helos
Corpsmen was my first guess but my husband (former Navy) mentioned Aviation mechanics as a possibility.

7. Hospital Corpsmen are the Medics for the Marines, and go with
their unit into the hottest of action, and administer care right at the site of combat. Hospital Corpsmen are Navy personnel. There are Corpsmen among the posthumous Medal of Honor awardees. As you can imagine being a Corpsman with 1st Marine Division in Fallujah is probably a very dangerous job.

8. Navy provides all health care for Marines...
Including Corpsmen who are assigned to the front line, plus doctors, dentists, dental techs...

Also Chaplains and Lawyers. There are no Marine Lawyers. JAG upsets me, with thier Marine Lawyer and Navy Pilot Lawyer.

And not the forget the Navy Religious Program Specialists... guys who assist Chaplains.

Marines do, however, have thier own helicopter mechanics.
