Enron Charges Reduced Against Lea Fastow
Enron Charges Reduced Against Lea Fastow

The charges against Enron defendant Lea Fastow were reduced Thursday in Texas to a single misdemeanor tax count.

Fastow, the wife of ex-Enron Chief Financial Officer Andrew Fastow, was previously charged with six felony charges and the new plea bargain will allow her to avoid a June trial, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Earlier this month, a federal judge refused to accept a plea bargain on the previous charges because it offered a five-month prison term. The new charge carries a maximum of a 12-month sentence but prosecutors will probably ask for less, the Chronicle reported.

Wow, this one got past me, just read about it today. I am so glad that she can now avoid trial, it would have been so rough on her. Charge with 6 felonies, now reduced to 1 misdemeanor. :eyes:

2. Doubt it. The only female that will be punished
is going to be Martha Stewart... because she gave money to Clinton.

3. So we are talking 30 days at the most versus 5 months. Good for her the
judge refused the previous deal.
