FoxNews has no story regarding US abuse of Iraqi prisoners
Edited on Sat May-01-04 11:39 AM by Alpharetta
Nothing on their front page (www.foxnews.com)
No mention of Bush's comments.
No mention of reaction from Arab world.

3. FoxNews viewers are so uninformed, so out of step
I have to remind myself each time I talk with one I am speaking with someone who truly does live in a different reality.

I was told not to disturb sleepwalkers. Gently lead them back to bed and don't wake them up.

6. They discussed it on "Hannity and Colmes" last night

The had on an ex-seargant who said that becuase the soldiers haven't been charged with war crimes under the Genevea Convention, that proves that the Geneva Convention wasn't violated.

------------------------
My opinion:
When someone is arrested, he or she isn't necessarily charged with the most serious crime applicable.

7. Indeed.
Just because my driving record says officially: "9/10/01 0714 Town of Butler Speeding (0-9)" does not mean that I was actually not speeding 20-25 over (which I was), or that I wasn't speeding any other time (which I do).

8. They aren't charged under the Geneva Convention because
it has been violated in nearly every article by the US military. This is scary to me because the bushites may find themselves pushed to the wall and declare martial law and a coup. Another direction this may go is that the younger officers in the military may attempt a military coup. There is nothing but a tradidtion of civilian control to prevent such a thing from happening.

Those who pray- get on your knees.

11. As soon as Bush authorizes...
...its release, this will become an official news item.

And once it's released, we'll learn that the soldiers were simply leading a clothing optional aerobics class.

14. The story is back in the headlines section off the front and has this spin
First of all, their headline is:
'Bush, Arabs Disgusted Over Prisoner Abuse'

So Bush* is, of course, a righteous humanitarian and human rights proponent and ally of Arabs. Right?

Second, the story starts with mostly details about British troops' abuses and Blair's reaction.
See? Others did it too!

Third, this little backgrounder is dropped in by Fox as if to suggest that criticism of abuses is just another one of those indicators of Freedom:
"During Saddam's rule, Arab media rarely criticized atrocities reported by world human rights watchdogs. Iraq activists always complained that ignoring the abuses encouraged the Iraqi dictator."

Seems that Fox's little backgrounder confirms that their shilling for Bush* helps encourage our own dictator's abuses.

FUCK YOU FOX. FUCK YOU VERY MUCH FOR ENCOURAGING DICTATORSHIP IN THE USA.
