5. I don't think it matters that he said that
Edited on Sat May-01-04 01:46 AM by jokerman2004
I don't think it matters that he said that. The ruling party requires it. We have to wear our party pin prominently and goose-step after all...

What I do see though, is a bold question being posed here. On the one hand we have the explosive situation of Falluja and those grotesque photos of human desecration in the Abu Ghriab Prison being copied geometrically across the world as we speak. There will now surely be a wave of reaction against the West from the radical Muslim world. All their worst visions of us have been confirmed.

It's high time we pause and pay attention to the price we're paying for this travesty of a war -- and the far higher price we're likely to pay soon enough.

I believe Koppel's reading could provide a pattern interrupt, a pause question in the nation's psyche -- if anyone tunes in that is.

This country needs a good case of propaganda whiplash to get their attention. Something's got to give. Soon!

8. He did not say he supported the war.
He said he was not against it.

There is a difference. I think his opinions about the war may be more complicated and nuanced than merely 'supporting' it.

I do not care about what he said. He was SHOWING that the dead have been hidden. He took them out of hiding. He honored them.

6. It was quite moving, glad I watched...
The majority of the dead were in the age group of 18 thru 21. So young. I think that every other name was of a Hispanic soldier. One or two Asian names, One or two Saudi/Mediterranean names.

May God Have Mercy.
