Our credibility in Iraq just went *pfft* (Okay, the REMNANTS of our crediblity went *pfft*). And the genius who whipped out the "Saddam did a lot more of this than we did," (Ann Clywd) you can stand in line just behind Mr. Neal Boortz, with his "Those pictures of American soldiers abusing Iraqi prisoners? You do know that it was other American soldiers who took those pictures and turned them over to authorities, don't you? The media will concentrate, though, on the bad apples, not the good ones." (winner of today's "no-shit" award)
But we have lost the war for Iraq. It is over. We can longer argue "We're not like Saddam." We have shot the people of Iraq, abused Iraq's citizens, and devastated the landscape.
It is now time to cut our already massive losses, and hand the country over to the UN, so at least all this garbage does land on our heads alone, and at least we can gain the meager credibility one is bestowed with upon expression of remorse.
