I'm watching BBC News-REAL NEWS for a change!
Ted Kennedy assailing Bush, Iraq casualties and the treatment of Iraqi prisoners. they have segment on the 9/11 commission and Bush's extreme "control of message". The commentary that occurred during this segment would have never aired here.

As a contrast, the lead story on my local news was the letter that a UMASS student wrote about Tillman and assorted local crime stories. This will be followed by some health scare of someting you use everyday that may kill you. Why can't we have responsible journalism in this country?

4. Mais Oui!
:-)

I prefer the Camembert. I've never been a big fan of German sausage (prefer the Italian kind).

9. LOL! We can substitute the brotwurst with paella
It's all the same at the "Soft on Terra" diner. Oh I loooooove the cheeses too. I've been trying to tell the White House that France has WMDs and that the people fear and despise Jacques Chirac and would welcome an American-style free market democracy in place of the horrid socialistic stalinist nightmare they now languish under, in hopes that The Adults in Charge would make me the French Chalabi. They have yet to return my calls, though, and I can't really figure out why.

8. This may be a dumb question
If I switch to Sirius, do I need to get a new satellite radio?

3. The best thing I ever did was get a shortwave radio....
For the last year, I've kept my sanity by listening to the BBC World Service (favorite show is Sunday AM's "Talking Point"); and stations from Canada, Cuba, China, Taiwan, Japan, Netherlands, Belgium etc.

Radio Netherlands is wonderful, as is Canada and the CBC (it's sort of a combination of both), but the BBC is really my lifeblood. Their features and analysis are amazing....

5. Yeah, that's the news that's disturbing for all the right reasons:.
It's real.

Conversely, our domestic corporate news is disturbing because it's not . It's just a broadcast fax from the WH. You know, a lullaby to send us here at home safely off to sleep.
