Can I get some help regarding the Draft issue?
I've seen this site posted here several times:

http://www.sss.gov/perfplan_fy2004.html

I'm feeling a little thick this morning, but I can't see in that document where a draft appears to be impending. I know that many of you have already reviewed this. Can you help me out and show me the hot stuff?

Also, any other links/data would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

3. There are a couple of conscription/national service....
....bills under consideration in this session of Congress. One is by Sen. Fritz Hollings (D-SC) and the other is by Rep. Charles Rangel (D-NY). Interestingly, the military does not support reinstating the draft. While it's true we need more boots on the ground now (General Shinseki is completely vindicated IMHO) putting the draft back in place would take at least a year from the time the legislation is signed, and it would be probably close to another year before the first conscripts would start getting to units. It's much simpler and cheaper to call up additional reserve troops (already trained) provide them with refresher training as needed and send them where they're needed.
