Kerry on Tweety: gives Bush wiggle room on all kinds of issues.
"Who knows? We may still find WMDs"

"I don't think the "president" and the VP are on a par with the Menendez brothers." (why the hell not, Kerry?)

Over and over again I hear Kerry giving Shrub and the pukes credit they don't deserve. He pulls punches and plays nice, when he should be ripping out their spleens. There is so much ammunition to use against them that there is no excuse.

I will vote for this man if he is the nominee. But there is very little sense of grand vision, justice and mission in his bearing and delivery, and I fear the election's outcome.

Seems to me the overall tone of JK's message is one of "look it up, investigate, do the research, and you'll see that I should be elected."

Bullshit! He has to tell us in short sentences the why and the wherefors; if the Murcan people liked to look up information, GWB would not be squatting in the WH right now.

Is it too late for Clark of Dean to re-emerge!?

2. So you think Kerry should have said that Bush and Cheney were like
the Menendez brothers?? And that we will never find WMD, when they could very well be placed in Iraq. I agree that he needs to find short hard hitting sentences and his words do not stay with you. I agree with what you are saying in your post. But the two examples you give? - I think Kerry gave the right answers.

4. No, Bush and Cheney killed more people.
Would that he had said that!!

Let's face it. Kerry goes through spells of lie-down-and-take-it and go-get-'em. This was one of his go-get-'em days and it was poor.

7. Kerry is doing just fine...
If he had said, what you think he should have said...it would have been blown all out of proportion in the newpapers tomorrow. And done more damage than good.

You people want blood and guts. Not going to happen.

There is enough of Bush's dirty laundry out there to bury him right now.

It's slow and steady that wins the race.

This game may be beyond your scope.

14. I can dream, can't I?
sorry, I like people who tell it like it is, and don't weasel and waffle and qualify everything to death. It's not because I believe the world is black and white,or things need to be oversimplified.

But SOMETIMES, just maybe, SOMETIMES, Kerry will have CLARITY OF VISION AND SPEECH.

I'm still waiting for ,"The President lied to the American people," as Kucinich says. SOME THINGS ARE CLEAR. No need to muddy them up.

18. "This game may be beyond your scope."
Well then, Tellurian, I just thank god that I have someone as sophisticated and in the know as you to keep me informed; ya know, seeing as how this is all within YOUR "scope."

Yours is the usual losing Dem strategy; you expect way too much from an electorate that nearly gave the white house to george bush in 200.

My guess is you approve as well of the famously successful Gore strategy for fighting back during the 2000 recounts.

17. My beef is that Kerry OFFERS these bon mots unsolicited.
He often puts the best construction on Bush issues that should receive nothing but our scorn...as though he's TRYING to give them the benefit of the doubt.

More nicey-nice politics for losers.

while he did give him "wiggle room" about the WMD, I see his point. He voted on this war for the reason of WMD and he has to stand by that. If he goes around spouting that there are and never were any WMD, then people will ask why did he vote on the war. He knows he was a sold a bill of shit with the intelligence by now, but there has been NO COMMITTEE to PROVE it--only David Kay and half a dozen other WMD experts. Kerry is just going the "legal" route in this and chooses his wording carefully.

I just wish he could talk on the stump as well as John Edwards. I like him and know he's very intelligent, but people identify with someone they think they can sit around the table and "naw the bone" with.

10. The last thing I wanted was a candidate who voted for the war
but we're stuck with it now.

How the hell else CAN he respond if he voted for the war.

Oh well.

WMD's my fucking ass.

I can't believe he said that. Even if he HAD to say it, it just disgusts me to no end -- seriously, I just want to puke in the man's face because now he HAS to say shit like that.

Ugh.

15. IWR was not an up down vote for war - and Kerry emphasized BUSH lies

Did you see the interview?

He said they may still find WMDs (basically anything is possible) but not in the quantities they told us, and not in the places where they told us they would find them. The emphasis was on the EXAGGERATION by the Bush admin -

You may remember that Congress etc was briefed and told that they knew exactly where the WMDs were, complete with photos of warehouses where they were being stored.

If you want to puke, why don't you puke on the White House rather than the Dem candidate.

5. If the headline tomorrow said, "Kerry compares Bush & Cheney ..
to Menendez Brothers". Wouldn't that be an unwanted distraction?

8. I saw the interview..
and I thought Kerry did a hell of a job.

I was a Clark supporter, too, but I think it's unfair to claim Clark would have gone after Bush any harder. The candidates almost always move towards the center after the primaries.

I was happy with the Kerry interview. Now all Kerry has to do is choose Clark as his running mate, and he'll be well on his way to victory in Nov.

19. i hope I'm wrong, but I think you're in a fantasy world.
Kerry's stump performances and interviews are passionless, boring.

If he can't come up with some heat, given all the Bushco crimes and lies, then we are doomed.

As far as the Iraq vote: why doesn't Kerry simply say; "I voted based on what the White House told us. They lied, distorted and exaggerated. I wish I could take that vote back, but I can't. It's unfortunate that our commander in chief is a liar."

9. wmd you all may be positive there is none
but there are a lot of people who thought they had them thoughout the world all the nations and the u.n. this is just a reality. and we did go into the country to find masks and uniforms by hundreds laying around.

if he emphatically said there are none, was none, will never find any, and some come up, he is done. finished, no more.

i still in arguement, dont concede there is abolutely not any, i do say it appears bush lied about it and there isnt any, and no reason to go in, should have allowed inspectors to do job, and spend the time building a coalition

11. Kerry of the 70s is dead
now i got an explanation to why Kerry had to mortgage his house before the primaries . By diluting any Principe we might have in order to please everyone , we end up soulless. that's why even his so called heroic actions are being revisited by the very ones who have eggs on their faces as far as the issue - war-is concerned.

He did not look very convincing and worse he came across like slow, fake ,no self confidence , No charisma. He was not once again trying to express his vision, ideas (if he has any Left- but was rather playing the game of being thoughtful, fair and all the bs. He has not realized that with a majority of infantile crowd, only images and impressions have a lasting impact. He is so slow! I am really depressed
Anyone in Du with a some leverage or connection should talk to him or his campaign manager and ask him to try and take off his long standing mask

It is sad to see that while the real criminal are rising and worshiped

I am dreading November given the performance that Kerry has been giving so far. If he keeps it up he will get Gored. Like his GMA comment the other day about them doing the job of the RNC...was this a suprise to him?

get a better perspective on all of this. Let's support OUR CANDIDATE!!!!!. The village voice and us are really causing harm to the cause.
