Americans are being tested. Just how much will they take?
Edited on Tue Apr-27-04 10:10 AM by liberalnproud
Does it seem that way to you? Let us glance back at some recent events that have transpired over the last 3 years or so and take a look. While you re-live these outrageous crimes against our country, each of which in itself, should cause revolt by the people against it's leaders, ask yourself why have the people been silent. I am not talking about members here at Club DU, I am talking about the general populace. These are not just crimes committed by the WH and it's felons, these are crimes that have many accomplices, all of which work in our capitol. They are of two colors, red and blue.

Election 2000- Stolen. Bush remains *pResident. The crime, the complicity, and the cover-up at every level of our government.

9-11- The crime, the complicity, and the cover-up at every level of our government.

State of the Union 2003- W* lied to the entire country during primetime, and everyone watched. The crime, the complicity, and the cover-up at every level of government.

Iraq War- No WMD. No 9-11/Al Queda connection. At the rate we are going we will have lost 1000 soldiers by mid-summer. The crime, the complicity, and the cover-up at every level of our government.

Diebold et al- Many other kinked elections. The crimes, the complicity, the cover-up at every level of our government.

These are the biggies. I would expect the people to at least be aware of these. We here at DU watch the daily unlawful actions of those in power in shock, I know I do. But, these 4 here should cause an uproar in this country, and they have not.

The criminals have to be thinking, "we can do whatever we want, look, the People will do nothing. Let us move on to plan B."

What do you think Plan B is? How far can they go before America wakes up. What will cause the people to revolt? Not us here, but the other 250,000,000 Americans.

1. Perhaps it's not been so well-planned, it could be a "tacit" rather than
"explicit" situation, but yes, I agree how much the Imperial Subjects of America will take is being tested.

And we are failing. If the Founding Dads are watching they are ashamed of our collective selves.

But this thing isn't over and decided yet. We are still halfway between Republic and Empire and it may be that it could still be pulled in either direction.

DON'T GIVE UP! GET OUT THERE AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

Donate to Kerry! Put a bumper sticker on your car! Speak out to people one person at a time! Use your imagination!

Because 2004 may be our last chance.

Don't just bitch about what's wrong. Get up of the couch and help us make it right!

There's still a chance it might happen.

3. Long as they can keep gassin' up the SUV without breakin' the bank...
...the murkan sheeple will continue to NOT give a sh!t. They might grumble if their reality TV keeps getting interrupted for emergency announcements, but that won't actually goad them into any kind of action.

Sorry to be such a cynic but DAMB, I'm getting sick of living with so many apathetic people.

4. The attitude you mentioned
shows in their every action, IMO. I am continually amazed at the arrogance with which they accost our freedoms and liberty. It is like they know that the public will just take it.

9. I think this vile administration has driven home "things have changed
since 9/11". My response always wants to be, things shouldn't change because of 9-11. What should be great about our country is that despite a horrible national tragedy, we still maintain our freedom. These assholes keep saying that the terrorist hate our freedom while they slowly chip away at it with such legislation as the Patriot Act. They want to use the freedom haters to take away our freedom. Why don't people get it?

5. Don't forget...
The outing of a CIA agent - which if I remember correctly is treason and results in a long dirt nap if proven guilty.

6. 2000 was a COUP
not a "stolen election."

It will require more than going through the ritualistic motions of long-dead democracy to regain our country.

7. good news here
I got a ride in the shuttle from the car dealer just now. the driver was an old guy. He told me he was retired AF and then Lockheed for 20 more years. I was thinking "here's a freeper" but screwed up the courage to ask "So what do you think about the Kerry medals thing?"

I was amazed!! He went off on a rant about the repugs slinging dirt and that * was gonna get creamed in Nov. He talks to people all day long shuttling folks home and back, and says most agree * is a (and I quote) a "nasty piece of work"

Remember people, I live in Arizona and this driver shuttles mostly the old "Sun City" retirement crowd (from an Oldsmobile dealership)

Take heart my brethren :)

10. As long as they can shop at Walmart and eat at McDonalds
they won't care. Bush could rape an infant on the front lawn of the Whitehouse and they'd ignore it. The Murkin people need a good ass-kicking.
