PEOPLE!!! ATTENTION!!! GodDammit!! We Have 6 MONTHS!!!
Edited on Mon Apr-26-04 04:59 PM by matcom
LISTEN UP ALL!!! (sorry for the caps)

WE HAVE ALMOST EXACTLY 6 MONTHS TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What are YOU doing?

Look folks. The MOST IMPORTANT election in MY LIFETIME is upon us. What are we doing? WHAT ARE YOU DOING?

Some tips:

A couple of years ago, I started a Boston flyer campaign. With the help of the writing of Will Pitt and the time of others, we started standing on street corners handing out information. We used our own money and printed out flyers. We have been lazy lately in keeping up that excercise (BUT WE ARE ABOUT TO RAMP THAT UP AGAIN SO BOSTON DUers, YOU HAVE BEEN ALERTED) Do something similar. We will post our future flyers on this web site for all to use. Get a group together and DO THIS!

Some other's took our flyers and did the same in THEIR communities. DO IT AGAIN!!

Email:
My family was persuaded and "shown the light" in roughly a 6 month time frame. HOW? Email. I know some don't want to "rock the boat" with their family and friends. Fuck that. ROCK THAT SUCKA!! You might lose a friend but in MY experience, send them "CREDIBLE" info from "CREDIBLE" sources. Don't add anything to the emails. JUST send them the stories. You might be surprised who starts to "think".

EMAIL THE HELL out of EVERYONE you know!! Email is free, powerful and wide ranging. If you receive a RW email that is full of hate, SAVE THAT DISTRIBUTION LIST!!! Make a point of sending the TRUTH to them! These people have draft-age children, sons/daughters serving now and NEED TO BE INFORMED!!! They get thier "news" from the sources you rail against. GIVE THEM MORE!!

Folks, I have been avoiding GD for a month or so but we have NO TIME LEFT! 6 Months ain't a lot of time to get things right. NOW is the time for you to find your "second wind". 1 Million marched this weekend in D.C. We need to "engage" more than that. It is a tough job but if you post here, on the coveted Democratic Underground, YOU CAN DO IT!! THIS IS A FUCKING CALL TO ARMS!! Do NOT take this any other way.

Don't preach this bullshit that Kerry is this or that. I don't give a rat's ass. I am prepared to protest Kerry to the hilt and will gladly do so. AFTER he get's my LEGITMATE VOTE! What I DO know is that we know the Devil who squats in THE PEOPLE'S HOUSE and he needs to be run out on his fucking ASS. He deserves AT LEAST that much. Step up to the plate and do your part. This is the end game. Period. DO IT.

DO IT NOW. YOU DO NOT HAVE ANY MORE TIME.

The time is NOW and the moment is UPON US!!

1. At least pick a cause
Emily's List, Moveon, Sierra Club, SOMETHING. If you can't outright support Kerry, at least get the swing voters so disgusted with Bush they stay home.

And then there's this:

House Party Day, May 22
http://www.johnkerry.com/fundraising/

Thank you Matcom.

3. the "cause" is the removal of the fucking Nazi in the White House
nothing more, nothing less.

THAT is the prize. We can deal with the aftermath. Easily.

You have 6 Months.

11. the cause is the salvation
of representative democracy in America. The removal of Bush is the first point of order, but it doesn't define the goal.

12. I agree
But for the people who don't want to support Kerry, they can get involved in another group and spread the word about what Bush is doing. Women's rights, the environment, worker's rights. I don't care if people get involved against Bush that way, just as long as they do SOMETHING.

We're on the same side here!

2. I think my family is a waste of time.
They really are over-the-top freepers who engage in willful ignorance. They've asked me to shut the fuck up (but not in those words because they're "bad" words). Plus, I rely on them because I'm disabled. I can't afford to rock the family boat.

However, I will do what I can in the community to raise awareness. I will distribute flyers. I will become more active in the local peace group. I will become involved with the local Democratic Party. Now that classes are over, I can devote what little energy I have to the cause.

But don't tell me you family is above help. MINE wasn't. NOBODY is. EVER VOTE COUNTS. Don't sell yourself short. DON'T EVEN THINK IT.

18. Right there with you -
My mom, dad, brother, and sister are MAJOR repugs. If politics comes us, they all jump on my husband and me. I might could break through to my mom on the draft issue, but now that my brother is over 30, she might not care any more. She's the only one that I might possibly get to see the truth, ,but then again she has to live with my dad - and he threw me out of the house (as in kicked me out - made me move) when I campaigned for Mondale.

7. I'll print out and pass along
whatever you post.

Usually, I photocopy a bunch of copies and just leave them laying around in places like the post office, the library, restaurants, in the free newspaper racks...

I also, write a note on the top that says "PLEASE PASS ALONG".

It's easy to do, takes less time and preserves your anonymity if you are shy about such things.

17. Dowd's Bushworld is a good candidate for this
It's their reality. We just live and die in it.

In Bushworld, our troops go to war and get killed, but you never see the bodies coming home.

In Bushworld, flag-draped remains of the fallen are important to revere and show the nation, but only in political ads hawking the president's leadership against terror.

In Bushworld, we can create an exciting Iraqi democracy as long as it doesn't control its own military, pass any laws or have any power.

In Bushworld, we can win over Falluja by bulldozing it.

In Bushworld, it was worth going to war so Iraqis can express their feelings ("Down With America!") without having their tongues cut out, although we cannot yet allow them to express intemperate feelings in newspapers ("Down With America!") without shutting them down.

just be sure to include the info on BBV's on your fliers.

All have really easy ways of supporting HR 2239 & S1980.

Without legislative reform or abolishment of these insecure machines, we're screwed.

Still I am hopeful that this can be rectified.

Appreciate your activism.

14. I wrote a Kerry endorsement for a local...
...magazine. That's the most recent thing I've done, beside emailing articles to all my friends and family. I've also helped people register to vote, but mostly I've had a recurring lung infection and some complications to my pelvic injury plus 65 hours a week of work, so I've been a little slack. I do plan to step it up, I just have to take care of myself a bit first.

But importantly, we all have to do what we can when we can.

And stay positive!

Decent pep talk Matcom.
I am getting tired of some posters who can offer nothing but critic of Kerry issues they hear on freep tv.
If you're serious about this election and removal of Bush, choose your weapon.
If you want to yap like the freeps then you're yaping in the wrong Forum..
You want Bush or You Want Kerry.
That's your choice.

24. Started this weekend
Captain Bookworm, reporting for duty.

When talking to my mom about going to the March for Women's Lives yesterday, I asked her if my grandmother and brother are registered voters. My gram is a faithful voter (I can remember her taking us to the polls when we were children), and Ma said she'd make sure Gram got to the voting place in November (she doesn't drive). I then instructed her to inform my brother that he was gonna register to vote if I had to drive the 5 hours and drag his skinny ass in myself.

I'm also sending links and news articles to friends and family, particularly those living in a certain swing state that helped the Shrub win last time. (Dumbass Mountaineers, trusting a Repuke.)

30. I've been making this offer all over the web
SO, I'm livid and I want to throw my full support behind Mr John Kerry, but I've been out of the political loop for a few months (moving, trying to make ends meet, etc) so I have no Contact information for the Kerry crew, and I want to get some facetime with Teresa, or someone near to the top. I met their campaign manager, or one of them and was blown off and that soured me a bit, so I need to get to someone that's is willing to take an honest look at what I do and what I'm good and and potentially USE some of my material.

HERE are 15 of what I consider my Best flash movies. They've been seen willie-nillie on the web (some have been slayed in the LATIMES, National Review, etc) - linked on Michaelmoore.com, Howardstern.com and many more Great sites. One of them has been downloaded nearly a million times - I'll let you guess which one, but one clue would be to say that the GERMANS Loved it. :)

"Bush Knew - An American Requiem"
http://www.takebackthemedia.com/true911.html
Music: Beethoven's Requiem in D major - "LaCrimosa"

WARNING: GRAPHIC

I created this exactly one year after the actual horror took place on 911. I found it absolutely impossible to believe that Bush would sit on his butt in a schoolroom KNOWING that one of the World Trade Center towers had been taken out by an airliner - and STILL sit there (even AFTER Andrew told him personall that the SECOND tower had been hit) and READ A BOOK ABOUT A GOAT FOR OVER A HALF AN HOUR.

Think about that. I've included all the information by the media that shows that he had FULL KNOWLEDGE of our country being under attack when he walked INTO that school (placing all those kids in danger - his whereabouts were well known - this was a planned photo op.

This flash may be disturbing to some people. It involves a split screen that shows Bush reading on the left while the buildings burn and poor souls are leaping to their death. The death that in my opinion was allowed to happen at a minimum and at a maximum shows utter incompetence by Bush, who as we have learned recently had MANY warnings in presidential briefs right up to the cataclysm. BUSH KNEW - AND DID NOTHING.

This flash was made possible by the use of actual footage made at the Booker Elementary school by local media that morning that shows CONCLUSIVELY that Bush SAT on a chair, looking mighty guilty to many of us.
